Hi all, we got back on Monday night. Had a fantastic holiday. Stayed in Block 13, nice quiet area, close to quiet pool which we preferred much more than the big pool. All egyptian staff very friendly and helpful. Room was fab - very clean, restaurant great - all the food we had was hot, and never saw anything undercooked. Ate the salads, and the ice, used the water coolers ( even though I said I wouldnt!),me and the girls had very very minor stomach upset - half a day of churny tummies, partner had bad stomach but he had flu the day after we got there which developed into bad stomach so might have been a coincidence. Beach is to die for and usually very quiet, sea like a warn bath. Snorkelling not to be missed. The only thing I wasnt happy with was Naama Bay - a nightmare of people leading you off the main strip to their shop - we found it scary, but we were very niave and let one guy lead us down some horrid back street - only made that mistake once though! Weather was scorching & i didnt want to come home!!

Hello everyone

Dose anyone know if 2 adults and 2 kids can do the swim up rooms was told by fc when booking the holiday that we couldn't but now in the new broaches and the wed site it says that family's
could be allocated the swim-up rooms so how do i go about up grading have tried to contacting the hv but they say i have to ask again 3 days before i get there :(

so if any one did up grade from standard was it worth it ?
how much did it cost ?

have 88 more sleeps to go and i cant wait
packed and ready to goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :rofl
thanx

hi shandy,

We asked about upgrading and they said the rooms would be big enough - my girls are 16 & 13. Our room was above a swim up room so Im assuming they would be the same size. They quoted us £15 extra per night while we were there but then none became available so we couldnt change. They have two sunbeds each, and a patio area, and only people from the swim up rooms can swim in that pool. They did look really lovely.

Just a warning for people going soon - watch the weight of your cases for the return flight. We ended up 5kgs over and they charge £7.50 (English Pounds) per Kilo. Other Half was furious!!! I still dont know how they ended up so heavy when they were minus all the bottles of shower gel and shampoo etc...

Does anyone have the email address for the on-site travel agent at HV? The reps told us that they can quote for any holiday and the prices are better than high street or even web site prices, but we forgot to get the email. They said choose where you want to go and then email them for a price. Thanks in advance

Hi  jolo123
hope you had a good time when you was there and thanx for letting me know about the swim-up rooms were going on the 1st of December so fingers crossed there be one and i don't think £210 is that bad for your own little space that's going on £15 per night
especially if you get the tummy bug LOL
i can just imagine sitting the in the evening drinking a glass of wine

Not good about the charge in the air port my hubby would have been mad to
was it a nice place and did you enjoy it was there any bad things what about the good things
and did you get the tummy bug ?
i will probably do the same book again when over there.

ah one more thing is there anywhere where i can wash our clothes when were there like a laundry room :think
:thanks again

Hi Shandy,
not sure about a laundry room, there was a laundry service where they took your washing away and did it but I never took any notice of the price cos we didnt use it. we just washed things in the sink with travel wash.

Its a lovely place, the rooms are very clean and large, the grounds are lovely, full of flowers and bushes and theres always someone working on them. The egyptian staff are so friendly especially Ibrahim at the quiet pool. There's loads and loads for kids to do. The food was nice, we never saw anything undercooked or had anything that had gone cold. The only thing we didnt like was that you get leered at and hassled to go in shops if you go outside of the hotel. In Naama Bay it was almost frightening and I was so glad that we wernt staying there. Even crossing the road to go to Macdonalds from the HV I got shouted at, they slow down in their cars and hang out the window to yell at you. You have to understand that they dont allow egyptian women to walk around so uncovered as we do, and so they must think that we are all loose women I think!! We had very very minor stomach upsets, really nothing to worry about. Other Half was ill with a kind of flu just after we got there and then got a bad stomach so not sure if it was something he brought with him if you see what i mean.
It was very very hot when we were there - December will be just nice i think.

hi shandygirlx
just to let you know that we had some laundry done whilst on complex and it was roughly £1 for a shirt and £1.50 for a pair of trousers. laundry was collected from room and returned two days later pressed and hung in the plastic covers.
hi kazee
hope you have a fab time i know we did.
we had no problem in naama bay or at the local shopping areas outside of hotel. in fact we found the egyptian locals to be some of the friendliest people we have met on our hols.
i would also recommend the garden reef snorkeling trip it was fantastic.
happy hols

Hi shandy,

Sorry, didnt mean to put you off - everyone has different experiences obviously. Naama Bay was very very busy and on the main street it was absolutley fine and everyone was enjoying themselves, we were just stupid really and allowed ourselves to be led off the main street. As soon as we got out of that taxi a guy came and said he would show us where to go, he helped us cross the road (its very busy) and then he led us off to his shop which was down a back street about three streets across from the main street. He only wanted us to look and he was very nice, but we had to be very firm once we realsied what he was up to and then once we left his shop we had to walk through a few streets where there were no more tourists and we got asked at every shop if we were english and would we go and look at this and that. We learned very fast to smile, say no and keep walking. Like i said we were stupid but didnt realise what he was up to, and it was very busy and overwhelming when we got out of the taxi. If we had known where to go it would never have happened. Once we found the main street we went and had something to eat and a look around and it was fine.

Hi, we are going to the holiday village on the 18th september and was just wondering if anyone else had emailed the hotel and how long it took them to reply. I emailed them yesterday morning and haven't had a reply yet.
I have emailed them before and they replied within hours so not sure whether to hold fire or email again.

Thanks.

Hi Natalie90

It took about 2 days for my first reply but have since been in touch with Ramy he replies the same day. Am trying for an upgrade to junior suite from 29 Sept but have been told can't allocate anything until 3 days prior to arrival.

Counting the days down as Can't wait to get away from this flaming rain
