Thanks now I cant go in the sea
One time in benalmadena the sea was actualy full of them like absoloutley completely full of them and there was men proper flogging them on the street . yuk
Beginning to think the pool is looking attractive,I just know there waiting for my big rear end to stick on and zap oh the very thought...
we saw loads of them last year, but we were going on a boat trip over to cleopatras island... they were huge and purple and evil looking, often wondered if they were the poisonous kind
never saw one when I was in marmaris/datca
I saw an odd one the other week around the Icmeler area but they weren't of a stinging variety. I never saw any while diving in Gokova.
Hi Darren... can you tell me what a non-stinger looks like?, it might just save me some embarrissing moments with me screaming at the kids to get out of the sea!
It's not that simple I'm afraid!! There are many different species (~200 I think) of which I only know a handful. Generally though, if they are mushroom shaped with no tentacles (where the sting thread or nematocyst are located), they don't sting. If they have tentacles, stay well clear.
Darren
ok... think its best we just steer clear of all of them in that case!
