The bulidling work at the Luxor is nowhere near as "in your face" as the New York New York so I doubt it will impinge on things too much which is a good thing.

We did the ranch tour a few years back, it was ok. The best part was the helicopter ride to the Canyon itself and back via the Las Vegas strip. We also got a voucher for a 2for1 night strip flight as well which we did and was very good.

The ranch itself is just a bit silly, you see shootouts, can do horse riding, buy items from their shop, the main guy sings and plays guitar etc etc but it all seemed to be padded out a bit. Also bear in mind you are only flying over the west rim of the Grand Canyon which is still spectacular but not as awe inspiring as the south rim.

Maybe will just stick to the South rim then. Where do you find the 2for1 vouchers. I've seen there are loads of touts offering "Free" vouchers etc, wouldn't want to confuse touts with the real offers!

Yes if you put Vegas into the Search facility there are loads of topics to keep you busy for a while as well as a good few trip reports where you will find ideas for places to eat, etc.

We've been in the first week in November for the past 3 years and always had good weather. However I believe there are a couple of big conventions in November this year, but this shouldn't affect you if your hotel is already booked. You can check if they are on when you are there HERE. Don't worry about little conventions of around 20,000, it's ones of 50,000 and over that make it a bit busier.

The past 3 years we have been in December and it was shorts and t-shirt weather every day but the evenings of course were a little cooler but still shirt sleeves.

This year we are going mid November so hopefully similar weather

We were there last december 12/19 and it was freezing at night and cool in the day to cold for shorts, we needed a coat after dark. Hope the weather is warmer for you in November we are looking to go in May. I have a full ACG 2008 if anyone would like it.

Yes you are correct about your weather.

We left 5th December last year for the UK and I believe it actually snowed that day and Chicago was a white out when we landed en route home and we were not sure if we would make it out but we did.

Yes you were unlucky but maybe the sun follows me so hopefully again we will get a little sun as I like sitting outside Wollenskies grill at lunch time and getting a few rays.
