there are 2 little islands to the weast of stalis beach and offers some excellent snorkeling into slightly deeper water, where you can see a variety of fish species and if you have a keen eye even some octopus. snorkelling in this area is excellent and you can also see some huge mullet swimming about.

also taking a trip down to malia port, and going off the rocks to the left on them you can find some great shoals of grouper like fish.
