We have just booked to go to the Sahara Beach hotel in Skanes.
Cant wait !!!!!!! we have been to spain many times but I just love Tunisia and everything about it. Ive only been once but fell in love with the place.
I agee about tipping, at first i wasnt sure who, when and how much to tip people but you get the hang of it after a few days.
Last July we went to yasmine hammamet stayed in the yasmine beach hotel and the maids cleaned our room everyday and made little designs and shapes out of our night wear which i thought was really lovely, they even scattered petals in the bathroom so we use to just leave 1 or 2 diners in the ashtray for them each day.
If the waitors were pleasent then i would tip them but not all the time, just as and when you feel like it.
looks like its dar k again
Back to Sousse about 22nd March I expect for a couple of weeks. While I was dithering the prices shot up so now I'm waiting to see if they come down a bit, but hell or high water that's where I expect to be.
Finally bit the bullet, changed the dates and booked today for a couple of weeks from 26th April. Now I must remember not to check prices any more but just relax and know I've got it sorted.
We're going to the Iberostar Phenicia in hammamet in March 2009. Never been to Tunisia before and we're really looking forward to it!
I'm determined we're going back to the Dar K in October, the prices have shot up so much though!
Have booked my first trip to Tunisia staying at the Royal Kenz, really not sure why we chose Tunisia
but can say that i'm really looking forward to it . We are not going until October , not really bothered by the weather , but if the sun is shining then that will be a bonus .
Have just booked up today to go to The Houda beach resort in Skanes. 24th june till 5th july. Hope i've made the right decision!! Got 2 kids (12,8) think they'll like the water slides and seems like it has good entertainment. Have heard it was getting a refurb starting in november 08.Does any one know? Also can you change your money at the hotel?? Also if anyone has any feed back on this hotel, please respond!!! Thanks in advance x. Karen
Have just booked to go to the Dar Khayam for the 3rd time, we're leaving on 30th September, cant wait!
We have just booked Dar K for the 4th time, fly out on the 27th from Manchester, cant wait
Hi Nadine, that place is addictive isnt it!! We're off on a big hol to Orlando and Mexico in April but I just couldnt go without my Dar K fix for the year!! What month are you going in?
September, same weeks as you, only 4 of us going this time, and teens are older, so NO KIDDIE DISCO had to dash into entertainment last few years to get seats as there were so many of us, this year will be a different holiday, more family time I think. Have the bottle of Whiskey packed for Arrafic for our rooms are you going for two weeks?
Ooooh cant wait!
My partner and I fly out Sept 20th for a fortnight to the Dar K, our first visit to Tunisia
Vikki x
Help need some advice whether to book the tej marhaba in sousse been to pek before and we loved it.Just would like as much info on the hotel itself and if its near to beach and shops many thanks christine
I've not stayed at the Tej but been several times to visit a lady I know who usually stays there and it certainly seems very nice. The rooms are a good size, the staff are pleasant and she says the food is fine. The grounds and pool area are lovely and it is well placed for getting around. Although it's not actually on the beach, this is only a short walk away and there are also some decent restaurants in the area. It is a fairly easy walk down to the Medina but also has its own quite large shopping area (though prices there are somewhat higher). I don't know your ages, but Bonapartes nightclub almost opposite has many devotees amongst the younger crowd (not my scene) and this also has a restaurant which does very nice food.
Off to the Marhaba Palace 22/03/09 for a week, and back again on 06/09/09 for 2 weeks, been to Tunisia twice a year for the last 31/2 years and love it stayed at various Hotels in the PEK area and Sousse.
Cant wait to get back there
Hi everyone, I am off to the Marhabab Hotel, Sousse on the 12th August, 2 adults 2 children. Excited, nervous, never been to Tunisia before. Flying out of Bristol, anyone else coming?
Although I've not yet had my spring break (going out on 19th April) I've just taken the bull by the horns and booked my flights for a couple of weeks in September. BA had excellent prices (£128) and as there were apparently only two seats left for the outward and 1 for the return flight I jumped in quickly. There's plenty of time for me to sort out a hotel and at least I won't waste time keeping checking flight prices as I usually do.
