And i think that is the way it should be Kedi ,people going on holiday should'nt have to worry about the economy of a country ,all they want is a fortnights rest away from the worries in their own country .Can see where you and carretta is coming from though.

Exactly, ppl say that if you look about you can get good deals on food and drink.I dont want to be looking about to be honest.A holiday would be to stressful if you were constantly looking for the best meal deal

Fair enough, but not everyone has an unlimited amount to spend, so maybe have to look for the better deals. Or maybe some just like to get value for their money no matter whether they're on holiday or not?

I also agree there is no way that someone who goes for their two week break in the sun is going to have the same view as a Turkish person.

This is a holiday forum for people to exchange holiday experiences, tips and advice, thats why its called Holiday-Truths. It's not an ex-pats forum and I think it is reasonable that most of us to post from the perspective of being holidaymakers.

Nice to hear a locals opinion by caretta :tup

You really can't just blame the hotels, the rising price of fish or the economy. My partner used to go on AI holidays before we met and I introduced here to what I think is the best holiday option, renting a private house with private pool.
Before anyone goes thinking were rich, were not. Villa/house rentals are on par with what we'd pay for a family room in a hotel, but prefer a place where the kids can drop everything where they want and not worry about it such as lilos round the pool etc.

Renting private has the advantage of 'having' to use local eateries which the whole family thinks is superb, and with our 11 year old boy even wanting to order his own food in the local language to the waiter :que We never eat under neon signs and nor on any main drag. We always go back a few streets, spot the busiest eatery that has the least looking Northern European clientel and then ruin it for the locals by going inside ;)
The whole family say they would never go back to hotel accomodation and hotel food, and not just because of a private pool or the kids having their own bedrooms, but instead say its the local places we eat and the friendly locals who make a fuss of them in off the beaten track eateries.

I understand we all have differing budgets, but the idea of regularly eating in the cheapest places or AI hotel and being sat next to the obligatory table of football shirts is my idea of chav hell, not a holiday ;)

As per the usual stereotypical view that everbody who goes AI is a Chav in a football shirt and the poster is somehow a better person for not doing so.

Any topic called something like the 'Big All Inlucive Problem' always brings out comments like this.

There must be a dozen people who have posted on this thread saying they like AI, I don't suppose for a moment any of them are as you describe.

Anyusernamewilldo .
It is one thing to discuss the ins and outs of all/inc or the economy of a country ,but you are over stepping the mark by your comments .I holiday all the time at all/inc and i am certainly no chav, as i am sure people like doe are not either ,you would do better to choose your words more carefully .

I'm sure most people are also quite happy to receive posts from people living there or who have lived there. If this isn't the case I shall limit myself to just giving holiday advise and not joining discussions if my views offend people.

Unfortunately Peter topics like this always seem to bring out comments like anyusernamewilldo's. We all just have to carry on as best we can.

I am sure you will enjoy your holiday just the same, regardless of any thoughtless remarks made on here.

Well i certainly no chav but my 9 year old son does wear football tops because he likes football. My 12 year old wouldnt be seen dead in one.
People who holiday in allinclusive hotels are a cross section of life and not full of chavs... i know because ive been allinc.Alot of ppl commenting badley about allinc actually admit they have never been!

Hi Nic :)

There were a few 9 year olds wearing football shirts at Lykia in the summer dont think they were chavs either. They were on a floodlite football pitch playing 11 aside football. :rofl
