We travelled to Palma on 5th September with Easyjet from Gatwick, our flight was delayed by 5hours & 35minutes, we were given a paper regarding cancelled & delayed at the Easyjet desk. On returning from our holiday I wrote to Easyjet concerning the delay & requested the compensation stated on their paperwork. I have received an email from *********** whose job title is Customer Service Champion ( a very inappropriate title) stating that although she realises how frustrating & incovenient the delay was they cannot offer compensation with a delay caused due to technical reasons. She also stated that they will be more than happy to supply necessary documents for us to claim from our travel insurance.
I have looked on Easyjets FAQ & they only talk about delays up to 5 hours not anything over that time.
I would be very grateful if anybody could help me clarify my position regarding this situation.
