Can anyone recommend anywhere I can get prescription reactolite glasses made up in Candolim (or nearby) ?
I felt bleedin silly last year with my glasses over the top of my sunglasses on the beach last year !!
Thx
Jeff
Yes, there's lots of places that do it.

I got prescription reactolite (transition lenses) glasses in March from Treasure Eyes in Candolim I took my own prescription with me as I had only just recently had my eyes tested. They quoted me £499 in uk I got them for £90 in Candolim so I will be paying them another visit in December.
Shame they started to fall apart pretty soon after so I have had little wear out of them, it will be interesting to see what they have to say when I take them back 18 months later.
Next time I'll wait til there is a B.O.G.O.F. at Specsavers. Much easier if anything goes wrong.
Off topic (we were in the IOM just 2 days ago).
i got mine at Danguis in Mapusa and they are the best glasses I have ever had, I will be going for some more in November
Just a thought.

I have used my reactor light ones for 10 years in Goa and had no problems. I ususally wear contact lenses but stick to my glasses for daytime in Goa. I think the opticians in this country tell you these things to make you spend more money. D&A and Boots wouldn't give me a separate prescription for my contact lenses because I wouldn't sign up to paying £29 per month for check ups. I have worn contact lenses for 40 years and had no problems so don't see why I should have now. I have no problem buying lenses in Goa and they are fine and at a price for the year at less than £29 per month so saving an awful lot of money.

GEL we paid £14 this year in April. This was for yearly lenses.
Many thanks Brenliz thats a great price, i usualy wear once a month ones so will wait a see what the price is when i get there, its got to be better than here £30 a month. Gel
My sister used to buy monthly ones but was told in Goa it was cheaper for her to have yearly ones and she has been fine with these. I will ask her what she used to pay and let you know tomorrow.
Benliz Thanks very much, i wonder why they told me here in the uk the monthly ones were better, who knows. look forward to hearing from you Gel
I have worn reactors in Goa - for months at a time - for a few years now - and am fed up with waiting for them to clear when I go into dark shops like Luma etc so have invested in clear glasses and sunglasses and can change them as I want.
I did try having prescription sunglasses and normal glasses when I went to Egypt about 6/7 years ago but found it a pain in the neck having to keep changing my glasses over and carrying around another pair of glasses when I was sightseeing and juggling the camera and camcorder as well. I don't find I have a problem with seeing again when I go back inside from outside. I have been going to hot, sunny countries for over 40 years and don't find it affects my eyes or I have a problem with my glasses, but I suppose we are all different, we have to do what we think is best for ourselves.
Brenliz thankyou for asking your sister, i will see what they say about contacts when i go for my glasses and sunglasses. \I have never had percription sun glasses but am going to give them a try. Gel
