I have bought a couple of pairs of glasses, one normal and one pair of sunglasses from goggles4u.com it is an american site. You pay in dollars and the glasses take about 3-4 weeks to get to you but my newest pair, the sunglasses were approx £40 that includes delivery and tinting. my husband has bought 3 pairs and is delighted with them.

good luck :)

Thank you for your replies. I've only just recently had new glasses from Specsavers, so don't really need a BOGOF, will still check them out though.

I will deffo have a look at that American site as well :cheers

Thanks again.

I get mine from Specsavers as well. I struggle cos I need varifocals but I can't drive in them, so then I need a pair of distance glasses for driving plus a pair of distance sunglasses for driving. Hubby says it would be cheaper to go on holiday :rofl

I need to update my prescription sunglasses, but as I now need varifocals I have been told they will cost me £300.

One thing I heard the other day is that some frames are too small to be of use for varifocal lens wearers, but not all businesses (I don't want to name names) that sell glasses will tell you that.

That is true sydney. Some of the frames I wanted were too small but I did find some nearly as nice!

My eyesight is so poor I think I will need Deirdre glasses to get the full benefit of varifocals.

I got my Varifocals from http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk they send you out free trial pairs and if you decide to buy the will also arrange for someone to come out and measure your eyes at no extra cost to ensure correct fitting.

They have sunglasses offers at the moment :sun2

If you have an old pair of glasses from your old prescription but that are still perfectly usable you can get the lenses coated and make them into sunglasses.

Last year I had new glasses with a bogof deal and had the first pair as photochromic so they go dark when required.

I got 2 pairs of varifocals from Tescos last year for £250. Titanium frames and one pair photochromic. They took a while to get used to but now I wear them without a problem.

We have a company called On Spec here in the North East. They are great and beat Specsavers, vision Express etc on price.
I had to have new glasses recently and I just used my old frames and had a varifocal lens with a tint on for £40.
Last year I just had a tint put on my varifocals for £15.
I dont know where some of the Opticians get there inflated prices from. :que

Thanks for all your replies, I decided to get them from Next.co.uk (didn't realise they sold prescription sunglasses), not overly cheap, but I can put them on my account :)
