His Mum is a good friend of mine, it's his Dad that's Spanish. They are a really nice family.
Thanks for that Pebbles hes the one told me and I got it the wrong way round
Hi Everyone just booked 2 weeks at Flamingo Oasis for next June along with my daughter and her family and my daughter in law and her family , I was really looking forward to it as I have walked round it on a few occasions when in Benidorm. However lately there have been some very bad reviews and obvioulsly they are worried , we booked through Porland Direct. The main concern is we really need a low floor as I am disabled and have read about the lifts , both the girls care for me so need to be with me on that floor does anyone know the best way of assuring getting a low floor or shoud we change. Any info appreciated.
Hi Deb, all I can tell you is I have just come back (10 days ago) and I emailed them twice asking for a low floor. I was put on the 20th floor, and was told at check-in that as it's a very busy hotel, we had to have what's available. You could try asking for a disabled room, although I don't know how many there are. Any more info you need just ask, Linda.
I would Ring them and speak to them directly and tell them how important this is to you, and get the name of the Person you speak to. Its too easy to ignore emails!
Obviously I wasn't happy about this, and after 7 hours they eventually got a room for her, 3 floors up from ours on the 23rd floor.
The point is I rang and they noted my request, but then said the agent had only booked 1 room, the booking clearly showed 2 rooms, so you can't even rely on phoning them. Linda.
Each time I have emailed this hotel, they have replied to my email and honoured my requests. It does help if you tell them that you are so looking forward to visiting their beautiful hotel and that you will be bringing them a box of chocolates grovel grovel.
I am so excited about going , but it would make things so much easier for us if we were on a low floor, a special thanks to Danny for your help it is really nice of you .
Portland who are are owned by Tui contract rooms for the whole season. So it would all depend on your arrival if rooms are available on a low floor.Although they put the request in I think you'd find it not a guarantee on the booking. Also the' Hotel booking 'office allocate the rooms even when a Tour Operator comes in.Even if you arrived a low floor to the 'Spanish 'is below the ninth. Also in Benidorm there is only a handful of low rise Hotels. In a Hotel as big as that one you'd still be waiting for lifts whether you are on a low or high floor and at the time you are going the Hotel is always full.If you specifically have special needs then Portland should of asked you when you made the booking.i.e assistance at airport etc if your fit to fly if you have any medical needs, if your disabled then they usually ask for mobility badge no etc.Try to find out if they do any adapted rooms and put in your request now.
Hi everyone,I wondered if someone could give me some help please. My sister in law is thinking of booking the flamingo oasis for next year but she has a little boy who will be 3 years old then, does anyone know what age the kids club starts from? I have had a look on the hotels site and on the travel agents websites but it doesn't say.Any help would be really appreciated with this or any other hotel that anyone may know of.
hi all I emaiiled the hotel and asked if we could have rooms on the floor with the football pitch (1st floor) we were given rooms 104 and 105 so we were lucky. The hotel was ok we didn't have any complaints. We have booked to go again at Easter carol
Can anyone tell me if they do rooms with a seperate bedroom only we're thinking of taking my sons friend with us next year and its ok running around half naked with your own 15/16 year old but quite a different thing with his friend
Could you not book a sperate room they will be charged as 2 adults anyway which will be the same as if they went in with you or have you already booked?
When I went last year with my dad and brother we wished we had booked a sperate room for me and my brother as dad's snoring drove us mad of a night that he eventually took his matress of and went in the bathroom where we all got some peace
Danny
scarbrosmoggy, Iv'e found out that the rooms on the pictures I posted last week are the planned club rooms???. I dont know what that means lol. It didn't say this info when I posted them before.
cheers dan
I really only went to the Flamingo Oasis because I liked the relaxed atmosphere on the rooftop. However, I don't think it's worth paying the extra they are asking for now.
It seems a shame to me. Maybe there are those of you that will appreciate this, but I think they have taken one of their best features and made it beyond most people's reaches
Jayne
Hi Jayne, we have booked for March, and we only ever use the rooftop pool/terrace. Does it say when it starts? Also does it say how much extra it is for a "Club Room".
We've booked for April and only use the rooftop swimming pool. We would also like to know when this starts as we weren't told anything. I think it's unfair to do this as a lot of older people use it for peace and quiet.
We were there in November, no doubt after Portland had published their brochure, and there were no such restrictions then.
