Hi Do you have a travel system for your baby or do you have seperate buggy and car seat,if you have the first could you take it all with you,if not will the airline let you put the car seat in the hold.It would probably be easier to buy cartons of formula in Boots for the plane, get enough for return too.Check that you can get it airside or ring the airport, they would probably suggest that you make up formula then keep it cool, rather than take on water,or could you ask for boiled water on the plane,l if you asked early in the flight it would cool down for when you need it.Just take one bottle ready made up,so that you've got something for take off if baby doesn't have a dummy,it will help baby's ears to suck something. We took our son abroad when he was 7 months so I like to think that we found the easy way round most things.
The best tip I would give is one that you already use, keep formula and water seperate until needed, most babies will take milk at room temperature.Feel free to ask more questions if you want,T.x

Melt

we have an extensive thread on taking baby HERE please take the time to look through and if you have any further questions of a general nature about travelling with little one please ask on that thread to keep it all together and use this one for resort related questions

thanks

Wiz my first question is a very resort specific question - Fuerteventura taxis do not appear to be bookable in advance and they do not use baby car seats! I'm not sure how else I'm supposed to ask a question about a transfer from Fuerteventura airport to our resort anywhere other than in the Fuerteventura forum! :que

But thank you anyway for your response.

OSCARBEN thank you for your response.

Hi Melt

Hope somebody can answer your question, the first time we took Alex abroad we were on a transfer coach and so didn't have a car seat, just used a pushchair in resort or local buses or boats so never had your problem, have you tried ringing the airline to see if you can take your carseat with you?I do know that some car hire businesses have seats to hire, could you hire a car for a day each end of your holiday,or arrange coach transfer with your tour operator.Good luck,Tina.

hi Tina,

We have booked the holiday ourselves so there isn't a travel company to ask. Also, the airline will accept a car seat if we booked a seat for the baby but we haven't she's just travelling as an infant. If you're not taking a pram they'll accept one then but not as well as a pram.

I originally looked into hiring a car but we would need an SUV as there is going to be 7 of us altogether and it was very expensive (we wouldn't need it for the main part of the holiday as we are quite local to all the restaurants and beach etc). Also, I can't find my paper licence anywhere so I think this option is out anyway.

I've contacted the villa owner to see if she knows of anyone that can help with the transfer.

Thanks again for your reply.

Hi Melt,

I am sure that the villa owner can help you. We have a property in Fuerteventura and our property manager would be able to help with any requests like this. We can arrange private transfers so your villa owner can probably do the same too.

Whereabouts in Fuerteventura are you staying?

We're going to Caleta to a large property on the golf course.

Hi Melt,

That is where our property is also. Did you get anywhere with the villa owner. Caleta is only around 15 minutes away from the airport!
