I presume you want to fly charter and on a package. Otherwise fly to Mumbai and do an 'internal' .... If your schedule is tight, best to do this with the way charter holidays are shifting slots about at the moment.

I'm flying with Emirates who do daily flights.

Thanks Neil, i will look into that, but i have a young child, and i wouldn't like to add on more time to our already long journey :(
I have just been on Thomascook.com, and i have seen a couple of flights, one departs on Sunday 25th Jan, and the other departs on Mon 26th. Both are ideal for me regarding dates, and the Sunday flight is only 30pounds more per person than the Monday flight.

You can also add on hotels for a few extra pounds, theres the somy resort in calangute for 482pounds, which is only 17pounds per person more than the flight only.

There is also the Lui beach in Candolim for around the same price, so if anyone has stayed in either of these i would appreciate your feedback, especially Lui beach, as i know Feelthevibe and Prettypollycat have told me about their experiences at the Somy.

Thanks :)

Nice hotel, i am so jealous :)
We were going to rent Mikes apartment at the highland in Jan, but he was already booked for the dates we need to go.

We paid just over £1200 In Jan 2008 for 2 adults and 1 child, we stayed at the riverside guest house, which was a lovely hotel near the baga bridge, with a/c, satalite tv, but it was a bit too small for the 3 of us.
We had all 3 beds pushed together due to the lack of space, but other than that it was a lovely hotel.

So this time we want to try and get as close to the price we paid last year, and at only a couple of hundred pounds more i am happy with that

ohh, not the dreaded monarch :rofl , i suppose they arent that bad, a means to an end, and if they come out the cheapest, then ill definetly book with them.

Tush, you need to check your flight - I think its on the flight changes thread. I am pretty sure that someone has posted that Monarch have cancelled their Friday flights from Manchester as from mid Jan 09.
We are on the same flight in November and the flight now leaves at 1.30pm apparently

Hi Roxey,

It seems you are right, we have just this minute recieved a phone call from our booking agent to say that our flight and all Monarch flights out of Manchester have been cancelled, they are now looking at trying to get us on a Thompson flight or sort out a schedual
all of which will be costing us extra. We can't go with Thomas Cooks apparently they only do 15day return we want 21days

Tush is this all Monarch flights out of Manchester or just the Friday flights?

Hi Brenliz,

I don't know, all I do know is that our flight on the 24th of Jan has been cancelled and according to our agent all other Monarch flights have been cancelled. We have been offered a charter flight by Thomsons at £555.oo each less 10% and that is economy class
With all adjustments it would cost £1720.00 for two in economy When we booked way back in May with Monarch it was £1321.00 for two in premier class.
We have now this very moment booked schedual flights with BMI & Jet Airways Man/LHR LHR/BOM BOM/GOA and vise-versa.
At a cost of £1622 for two, no longer is Goa the cosy holiday destination if this is the cost/hassle with flights not forgetting the stress and cost of a visa.

We are flying on a Saturday on 13 December so think we will be okay. If you have been told about your flights in January I think we would have heard by now. Our friends are going out the Saturday before us and have heard nothing about changes either. I think the changes must be to the Friday flights from January onwards. Its a shame when you think you have everything sorted out so far in advance.

I have been looking for over the new year and with FC from Manc they all say Thomson fly, now I know they have joined but are all their planes now Thomsom fly or do they still have FC planes :que
