There are lots but the site is not very user friendly. I found Golden Sands through beaches & resorts.

Paul - if you go to beach holidays on the Balkan home page then Bulgaria then Golden Sands you will find them.

Well thats how I found them.

I am next door until 11th June.

I look at Balkan website regularly but tonight no availability is showing for Golden sands. When I checked the other day
lots were available. Strange! Might be a little hiccup with the website cos hotels are showing in Sunny Beach.

Disappointed that we can't fly from Edinburgh now to Varna.

Still cant get to book. It says there is no accommidation for Golden Sands next year..

I have tried this morning too. Its strange cos you can't book Albena, St Konstantin or Golden Sands (all resorts
flying into Varna)! Yet all Bourgas are bookable. Might give Balkan a phone.

You can book for Golden Sands hotels if you phone Balkan Holidays (I just did). Loads of accomodation available but no flights into Varna. Fly to Bourgas and then 2/3 hour transfer to GS.

I did suggest there seemed to be a wee problem with the website but Balkan didnt offer any explanation!

I have just looked and there are flights to Varna from East midlands. So what is going on?

I just had another look at flight only and according to Balkan website there will be flights from East Midlands, Manchester, Newcastle and Gatwick to Varna for Summer 2009.

The website still isnt showing any available accomodation for GS though and sad to say no Scottish flights to Varna.

Might be a glitch on the site, but currently there's nothing available in Golden Sands or St Konstantin in June or July, but you could book Sunny Beach I think.

I would telephone them direct, surely they haven't abandoned the Varna area as well.

There must be some sort of error ,because you can book a flight and acommidation seperate on the same site with transport to the Shipka hotel...

Please note, the flights from Gatwick to Varna are not with Balkan Holidays (BGH) they are with the scheduled flights of Air Bulgaria, with only a percentage of seats for package holidays. these flights are on Mon/Wed/Frids. This was in operation last year as well. Tonyt

Despite the website for Hemus & Bulgaria Air being 'air . bg', the airline is actually named Bulgaria Air.

After going onto their website yesterday to find GS was not available to anyone I later found out on here that it was not my computer and hopefully it was just an 'online only' problem. Just went back to their site to find all seems well and our holiday to the Hotel Nympha in June 09 looks as sound as ever.

I hope we dont have to fly into Bourgas from Gatwick rather than Varna and we wont have to divert going out or back to flippin Manchester or somewhere equally daft either (as we had to when we flew from Southampton back in 06) I'll be more than happy.

We booked our two weeks a few months ago when the price was a damn sight cheaper than it is now and despite the Credit Crunch and the exchange rate tween the Lev and Sterling/Euro/Dollar taking a huge wallop I can rest easy that dear ol Balkan Holiday's are still in business.

Monaco, please note you are on a scheduled flight, prefix FB 498 Gatwick to Varna So you should have no problems with airport hopping. Tonyt
