Hadn`t been in Tenerife for over 10 years. Went to Marylanza (Ai)after personal recommendation - excellent.
We chose Ai but thought when we got there with the kids we would vary things by eating out some nights.
Prices are a disgrace. What has happened here is that the Canarians have got greedier and greedier, bought themselves bigger and bigger houses etc and need to maintain their much higher standard of living than they had before and they want to take it out of our pockets. So there is a downturn and then entrepreneurs say "lets try All Inclusive" and the poor "local rip offs" get cheesed. F... them - they deserve it. I went to a cafe with my 2 young girls and wife, no prices outside but we liked the look of the fruit drinks etc. 2 kids fruit juices and 2 capuccinos 20 Euros....c`mon they are having a laugh this is not a exchange rate problem!
I went to lanzarote in july and the prices were very expensive the food shocking in quality really wished I was Ai,Im going to tenerife next week Ai for 305 each id spend that in a couple of days on food and drink so while the bars want to rip people off ill stick to me Ai and be quids in. My mate just got back from Las Americas and was paying 4e a pint of cheap beer and his wife 6e for a shory with coke now thats more than rip off britain!!!
Interesting read all of this, was looking at taking me and my lady for a week in Feb and will probably go A.I now, some of the prices are a disgrace!
