so part two
and after a good nights sllep and an early morning wake up thanks to little william who opened the bedroom door and proceeded to jump on the bed with a welcome hiya,we discovered that steven had taken the week off and taken william out of school(nursery) for the day and was going to show us the city or at least show us how to get there and find our way around.and so 0900 a walk to the railway station about 10 mins and for $4.60 single a 25 min ride into sydney and first impression was WOW a big place, and so we made our way to the circular quay and a walk to the opera house and it looks fantastic and also the sydney bridge.of course william was not impressed with a look of ive seen this all before which he probably has since him and his mam and dad moved in 2007(his mam is an aussie)
but his gran olga and his aunt and uncle properly spoilt him
and so we took a ferry to manly for the rest of the day and hey its a great place nice beach and also plenty of shops for the girls,oh and the fish and chips are magic just like roker and seaburn after a long day it was time for a night out so we piled into stevens 4x4 and off to burwood rsl which is just i would say like a massive working mens club but lots bigger.the buffet was $16 for all you could eat great value and a chance for my first australian beer.now on the telly they all drink fosters or 4xxx no none of that to be found so a schooner of vb beer and nice it was too but as we had william it was home but we stopped of at a drive thru where you can buy beer(great idea)
next episode asap (if your not bored already) :cheers

the next day steven took us in the car up to the blue mountains and all i can say is WOW what a great place the views are so spectacular must have taken 100 photos (but when ive downloaded my photos there are NONE) so thats a mystery but bought some postcards and a callendar and still have my memories.and after a long day i thought i would treat myself to a couple of now i bet you all thought that there are pubs on every corner in australia but hell not in north strathfield the nearest being 30 mins walk away but enjoying my beer no problem so i dragged pauline and olga along and steven drove us to the pub the concord hotel in west concord now this place is a bookies(called a tab)it also has gaming machines and and on site bottle shop where you buy your beer to take away and the nice man rappes it in brown paper for you,it was massive.anyway we got there to find out that they didnot know what dry martini is(i suppose big butch aussies dont drink much of it)so it was 1 scooner,1 midi and 1 red wine $10 .and so after a few it was home time around 11pm half an hour later time for bed.
the next morning our early morning call(william) arrived with a bounce on the bed and a hiya,a great way to wake up missing the little fella already
and so back into sydney with our 14 day rail passes and on another ferry this time to taronga zoo which is a fantastic day out great views of the city and all the sites now this was one of only two places in three weeks that we saw a kangaroo so much for australia being full of them another myth i reckon, but the zoo is well worth a visit.
other places to go are
sydney tower fantastic views (my camera had no bateries in after charging it)and a great morning
sydney aquarium only sharks i saw
sydney wildlife world both at darling harbour(kangaroos)
and loads of museums,go to parramatta on the ferry its not as crowded as sydney and there are loads of shops, also went to bondi beach but was not too impressed with that but steven rekons it more for the backpackers and only tourists visit, newcastle on the train is about 3 hours away and i have to say that its 100 times nicer than newcastle upon tyne(sorry toonman) what a great beach and of course a perfect photo opp for a sunderland supporter like me.
watched the ne derby match in wests ashfield which is the biggest club i have ever been in kick off around 1145pm me steven his mate and pauline tho pauline was worse for the martini and did not see the end im sure we woke her up so thats one ne derby match i will never forget (the score would not have mattered, liar)as it will be the only time i will ever watch one in australia(or willit?)
look for my photos on either facebook or flicker :cheers
