Hi people,
We (Kate and Jon) are flying out to Goa on Thurs 27th Nov, it's our first time in Goa and were wondering if any other youngish couples/groups want to meet up in Calangute where were staying?
Also does anyone recommend activities/day trips worth doing? Which were your favourites?
Thanks
K&J
Hi Katie,
If i was you go to one of the meets and meet the other h/t folks there all so very nice and they will help you out and tell you where to go on trips and the cheapest way. Plus you may meet up there with folks that around about the same age
Good look and enjoy.
Pip

Thanks Pip! will do that! I'll have a look on the meet thread to check dates/locations
Hi Kate, where are you flying from we are going on 27th too, flying from Gatwick, but unfortunately we are not youngish any more, might act it at times though
We're also flying from Gatwick Polly - see you on thursday!
We also want to stay in a beach hut for a night - would anyone be able to recommend anywhere? would we need to book it now or ok to do it when we get there?
Thanks
There are loads of beach huts available, you need to decide on huts in the north (Morjim- ahsvem Mandrem) or south (Palolim). You have a few options, you can get a taxi driver to organise it as they all have "contacts" with the hut owners. The best way is to get to your chosen destination either by taxi or scooter and have a look at the huts and decide then. We have done south and north and paid around 10-12 pound per hut. If you fancy Palolim a taxi is about a tenner and there are hundreds of huts to choose from. If you fancy something quieter go North but there is no night life to speak of around Morjim area.
If you are adventurous try the white water rafting trip with daytrippergoa its a long drive but a brilliant trip. Daytripper do a trip which includes overnight in a hut but its more expensive than the other options. Check their website for ideas.
If you need to remember one tip it is
Dont tell any locals especially taxi drivers that it your first time in Goa, the price will double if they think your a newby.
yes doesnt it just, my OH made that mistake on our first day...
Great! thanks guys you've all been really helpful
Ashvem beach huts are not too far from Arambol which has a pretty lively Hippy vibe to it if you don`t want it too quiet.
