It was a 5 years ago, you have to go to Embassy to get affirmation to marry first, we went to translation shop in Wireless road about two hundred yards up from Embassy on the corner and let them do all translation's and take us to the amphur for marriage, witnesses etc , they translated marriage certificate ready for applying for settlement Visa at the Embassy, all done and dusted in one day, cost £100.00,(Settement Visa extra, you do that yourself) a friend did it his self, and just had the translations done, it took him a few days, I expect the government has moved the goal posts by now.
Quite quick in Embassy one hour for affirmation and four hours for Wife's Settlement Visa.
Will find site that is very helpful and post it soon.

This site is very helpful with a load of info, and most have done what you are about to do.
Forgot to mention there is the Amphur wedding (All legal) then the other half's village wedding with the chanting Monks food and drink, seems just for show, as that on its own you are not married, Good Luck
