Hi Tracey and Duncan

You have got the bug. I will ask around and find out where it is and i will get back to you. I hope you are not too cold back home, we have quite a big meet tomorrow at the Carvery and will have a glass or two for you but we will all miss you. Have a good xmas and happy new year to you and the boys.

The Lui Beach is situated at the Sinquerim end of Candolim, down a side road past the Kingfisher Villa. Haven't stayed there so can't comment on the hotel.

:) Hi, we stayed at the Lui Beach about 5-6 years ago and I will say that it is not up to the standard of the Highland Beach which the hubby prefered but i prefered the friendliness of the Lui Beach because it is a lot smaller and the clientel tended to talk to one another.
We had a room which overlooked the pool and reception which was large, clean and adequate with a balcony, but I did hear some people who had rooms closer to the road and even back then they complained of it being noisy and there was alot less traffic at that time then there is now :yikes , also one couple complained that they had ants in their room and the manager's response was "they come in , they go out" :rofl.
The breakfast was basic and they did have a small restaurant but it didn't get very busy.
It is a way out from the main Candolim strip but you can walk it, there are plenty of watering holes along the way or get a taxi they use to stand at the end of the lane.
If you went up to Kingfisher villa while you were out there this year you would not have been far fromthe Lui Beach.
It depends on what you want out of a hotel, we tended to use it just as bedroom which is why we go independently now and get accomdation in a guest house.
I hope this helps

many thanks for all your replies, have now been in and booked the lui beach for feb 2010,such a long time to wait but going croatia next year,we also prefer staying in smaller complexes which is why we have gone for the lui beach it,s also 500 pounds cheaper than the highland beach & we,ll only use it to sleep in as never stay in hotel during the day, once again thanks for your help
