Shame you are going in July. In June the The annual Rhodes Rock festival Takes place in Lindos in June. The best tribute bands all take part. Afandou is about half hour drive from Lindos.

I did see that and my husband would love it - is the weather much different in June to July? I really would like a holiday that has maximum sun as last year it poured down for our entire holiday

A few years since i've taken a taxi between Afandou and Lindos but at today's rates i'd expect somewhere around the 25 euro mark. There are regular buses during the day though so you could always get the bus there and taxi back (buses don't run at night) if you wanted to save some cash. By car/taxi it's around 30 minutes drive, by bus double that.

I don't know where you heard about the Floyd themed bars as i've been visiting Lindos for 16 years and don't know of any! Maybe somebody mentioned Socrates Bar as they have a few bits of music memorabilia and it's the only place i can think of that would be playing Pink Floyd or similar. If you're going for the Rhodes Rock festival then Socrates is the place to head anyway as thats' where you can buy your tickets.

we went for the rock festival last year - and wouldn't have coped without the air con. Weather and place absolutely fantastic - you'll love Lindos. (As A Floyd fan your old man will really understand David Gilmour's "On an Island" album after spending time on Rhodes.)

Don't discount car hire - apart from Rhodes itself and Archangelos I had no trouble driving on the wrong side of the road (and that was my first time ever) and the main roads aren't bad
