I second that - seems to be in an excellent location if you want to be in the thick of things.
There was also a Rui hotel (think it's called the Monica) near where we stayed on Torrecilla Beach but it's not as close to the main square, however there are certainly plenty of bars and restaurants within staggering distance.

We booked flights, apartment and hire car separately and I was very happy with the overall price we paid.

Hi
We've been going to Nerja for 5 years now and have always booked apartment and flight seperately. BMI baby, easyjet, thomsonfly jet2 ryanair monarch etc all fly to malaga. We get the bus from the airport to Nerja. If you are happy going diy, you can save a lot of money as there aren't really many hotels in Nerja, but an awful lot of apartments and villas in better locations imo. We generally pay around £300 a week per apartment in may or september. Try http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk or http://www.holidaynerja.co.uk We always stay in the east, it's the old town so lots of local tapas bars and restaurants which are great. The are is also known as the parador area.
Happy holidays!

Caroline - we're thinking about going to Nerja for a long weekend but all the transfers we found are REALLY expensive. How easy is it to get the bus from the airport to Nerja and how much is it roughly?

Thanks for that fwh, that's brilliant. :tup

Do you know if the station is close to the airport in Malaga?

Yes the train does stop at the airport although never used it from there. I am told the bus station is adjacent to the rail station in Malaga.

I am in Benalmadena next week and will be using the train/bus to visit my sister who is wintering in Nerja. Some of us are well off. My sister that is.

Will make some notes if I remember.

Hi,
There are 2 buses to get if you are going from the airport to Nerja. The city bus stops right outside the exit doors to the airport , I think it's the number 19. This is about €1 and you get off at MaAlaga bus station. It takes about 25 mins. Once at the bus station you will need to get a ticket for the Malaga-Nerja bus I think there is about 1 bus an hour. The alsa website has all the bus timings http://www.alsa.es This bus is about €3.50 and takes between an hour and 2 hours (depending on whether the bus is directo or not!)
