Did you book with Goldtrail? They usually have the worst hotels but some are OK.
If you get there and find its as bad as the reviews, insist on being moved.
Did you read the reviews before you booked?
If you have been to the area before and you are only using the hotel as a base you will be OK.

yeah goldtrail our flights booked with freedom direct, is it really that bad

The reviews are bad on Trip advisor but the ones for last May are reasonable.Its the start of the season so everything will be nice and fresh.The photos look as if its in a area but some people report it is a small resort with shops that are expensive.
I personally wouldnt use Goldtrail as my friend had a holiday from hell with them last August.
I dont want to put you off but read through all the reviews on here and Trip Advisor and make your mind up if you still want to go.You may be able to get them to change hotel/resort if you tell them the reviews are bad.
They are advertised at quite cheap prices but a lot of holiday makers have to spend extra money to eat out.
I notice a few people had to be taken to hospital and put on a drip!.
I am going to Gumbet in May with Portland who are a Thomson company and the price was just a couple of pounds more than a Goldtrail holiday for the same date.

What do you advise i have a heart condition keep ok on medication but cant risk taking ill. We are all mid forties early fifties except nephew lol so can u recommend another hotel in Bodrum area please Thanks janice

Personally if you are going to loose your deposit if you cancel or if they cannot allow you to change to a hotel with good reviews which I wouldnt hold my breath for it may be worth keeping that booking , use those flights and book different accomodation via one of the accomodation only websites . Its the flights to turkey that are the money and you have them there . you can pick decent accomodation up very cheaply if its only self catering or B+B.

many members on here do this with goldtrail because you can often pick up a package deal with them cheaper than a flight only . They just tell the rep on arrival that that wont be using the accomodation. If you dont mind me asking how much have you paid per person .

Hi Lyn we paid £320 each i know its not as dear as some holidays but dont want to take chances and get food poisioned hubby says we should go and see for ourselfs and if not up to much ask to be moved

We stayed there in May last year, and didn't have any problems. The food is the usual Turkish style with lots of salads and gorgeous soups.

The hotel is clean and the staff very wellcoming The only gripe I had was the low beds - I suffer from arthritis.

It deffinately is'nt 4* but good value for money.

Thats better news then Jo . weighing everything up after hearing that from mikenmarn, what you have paid I think I would now be tempted to do as your hubby suggests .

What you have paid is not that much more than the cost of a flight and at the very very worst If you find it that bad and they wont move you there should be plenty of cheap available accomodation there should you need it at that time of year.

It cant be any worse than what your imagining now. You know the worst so it can only get better .
keep an open mind , no doubt your expectations are very low now anyway and be prepared to eat out if need be . reading a few of those reviews it sounds like its mainly the food people have their issues with and that the accomodation itself is fine .
