Thanks Linda let's hope you get satisfaction. We don't really know where to go next as we don't want to get to the airport and they want to take us to another hotel. We also need use of the rooftop pool. As you know they told Carol on the phone when she booked that from 4th to 18th April would be the last time they'd book people in that hotel.

With all this hassle, you lot will certainly need the holiday

I've rang medplaya twice and the flamingo oasis, today and they are saying that the rooftop will be shut due to on going works they said that April will definatly be closed and when I asked for lindasmith whos going in march they said they think it will be shut then too...I have recorded the convos from f.o and medplaya and they are pretty much the same the flamingo oasis guy asked another person and he said april we doing works up there. I dont know how to send them to people i can't copy the file for some reason. The guy at medplay was most helpful he is going to email me with a reply as to what the situation is but he said that he is sure that it will be closed in april but will confirm it in wrighting to me
I also asked about direct holidays Thomascook to the guy at F.O to make sure they have rooms for my friends in april but they wernt sure he said we dont know what that situation is yet.

I've tryed my best but it seems they have no idea.

I'm getting a bit confused with this on-going thread Are you being told that you won't be able to use the rooftop terrace and bar or that you might not even be staying at the hotel. Please don't say that the latter is the case. Apart from wanting to meet you all, it leaves you not knowing where the heck you'll end up.

Jean and Carol are worried about them being moved to another hotel when they get there so I was asking them if they had confirmation that they will definatly be staying there with DH but he didnt have acess to that information, I thought they wouldnt but it was worth asking there was no thomas cook reps available to speak to in the hotel..

I think they will be ok and will get to stay at the Flamingo Oasis as DH are still using it in April apparantly.

at the end of the day if the rooftop is shut then what can you do its all been paid for now so nothing you can do will just have to bear it the disagreement is we would have gone somewhere cheaper if we had known.

I just got a reply from MedPlaya, don't know if I'm allowed to copy it onto here, but I asked them would I be able to use the rooftop pool/terrace in March, also would my friends be able to in April.
The reply says that every facility will be as it has always been until May, when a new sunbathing area will be available for adults only, and could I tell my friends this also, it is being built at the moment.
Read it carefully, and it has not answered one question I asked.

Linda I'm so glad you got a decent relpy finally I dont know why I bothered as the guy promissed me as soon as he got my email at med playa he would relpy and that was early this afternoon yet I've had nothing...

Well, I've emailed them back and said that I actualy asked if we could use the rooftop terrace/pool/bar in March and April, and would very much apreciate an answer to that particular question as it's important to us. Here's hoping they reply as quickly to this one. Linda.

Had a reply to the 2nd email I sent to Med Playa, and it states very clearly that we are allowed to use the rooftop terrace until May.It also confirms that there will be a seperate adults sunbathing terrace from May, but we will be able to find out about that when we are there.
I would also like to say that unlike the last few weeks when I (and many others) could not get a reply from the F/O, this person has replied the same day to my emails to Med Playa. Linda

I got a reply from medplaya and they sais they are building a sun bathing area where the mini golf is situated for adults only.The rooftop pool/bar area will only be for thomson holiday clients who have booked the club/suite rooms.This will take effect from the beginning of May.Still dont know if thomas cook/direct holidays clients will be able to stay there after April or will be moved to another hotel.

We have booked for the 12th May 09 and when we booked this holiday at the end of May 08 nothing was mentioned regards the plans for the roof top bar, this has annoyed me as I booked our holiday in 'good faith' that I would be able to sample the roof top bar with its lovely views many members of my family who have stopped here previously have told me about. I booked with Thomson and these are the devils who have caused this problem, If I wanted a full refund for this holiday I should be entitled to one as I wasn't informed of this happening when I booked this hotel.
