Also thanks from me Jill as we were all worried what we'd find when we got there. Hopefully we'll be able to use the rooftop terrace in April as in previous years we've spent a lot of time up there.
i dont believe it , im now staying at flamingo oasis in june now, wish they would make there minds up, im sick to stomach with all of it....edited to say another ring back , they have word back about rooftop pool and are waiting on confirmation and now looking at alternative accomadation ....is it me? or do direct holidays not have a clue , 2 different answers within 5 minutes.
Its ok i have just phoned them up now and they have told me the exact same thing, i now have an appointment with CAB monday at 10.30am to get this sorted out, they told me that we won't be going but said i couldn't have a full refund, we will see
they didnt tell me that, just said they would know more by next week in regards to alternative accomadation , when i asked what happens if it isnt suitable she said she didnt know as it wasnt her department that dealt with it , think il have to ring them back.
They are trying to string it out by the sounds of it, i will be getting me full money back and also compensation i can assure you that as this is my whole holiday ruined because Thomas Cook and Direct Holidays couldn't be bothered to tell customers the contract had been cancelled

Have been to local TC shop who pleaded ignorance but said not to worry (!!!!) I'd get money back - great, thanks.
Just back from Beni on Tues (Rio Pk) so took a stroll along to FO and spoke to reps (pair of kids) they thought that if booked in advance that TC would honour. Don't know where we stand.
My sister (who we are travelling with) went into her local TC yesterday and was told they didn't know what was happening but if they were withdrawing then our hols be cancelled.
Wish they would advise ASAP
We have finally got somewhere with our holiday we are not going FO is honouring all guests that have already booked however they can NOT use the rooftop. Only the new one been built and it will have no pool. I told DH ive found a holiday in Turkey and they have changed it and even said as a good will they will not charge me admin fees that was nice of them to say they have been messing me about for weeks. So sadly i wont be going back to the FO but im now off to Turkey.
At long last you've got somewhere Liana and I don't blame you for not going to the Flamingo Oasis, this is the last time we'll go. Hope you have a good holiday in Turkey, it's a lovely country and we always enjoy our holidays there.
Im giving it to thursday then calling back, was asked to give it till then by a someone in operations, hopefully this time it will be sorted out, hope you enjoy your holiday to turkey, im looking at alternatives in florida or turkey as well .
I would call back before thurs. They said nothing else will change and that we cant use rooftop but guest will be going to the FO.
Im hoping i get a straight answer this time, will call them in morning , they will be sick listening to me, the holiday im looking at in florida costs 3330 pounds with direct holidays and only 2480 with mytravel, so much for direct being cheaper, so no doubt they wont be able to give me that price and il have to wait for refund.
My SIL just got back from a stay at the Cristal Park yesterday. They had a 12 flight delay so were sent back from the airport to the Flamingo Oasis where they had an extra day AI. At the moment the roof top pool is still in use, but there are workmen there.
grrrrrrrrrr, finally been told that we wont have use of the rooftop pool and bar ,but, wait for it, tough you dont have any options, read the terms and conditions, i just really dont believe DH, any ideas on what i can do now ?
further update, decided to call them back yet again, and just basically stayed on phone and argued, passed to 3 different people but finally got my holiday sorted, booked to go to florida and deposit from flamingo is transferred to new booking, why could they just do this is in first place, now i need 2 paracetamol for my headache, but at least i know whats happening now.
I'm glad you finally got your holiday sorted audbod but what a nightmare. Flamingo Oasis are losing a lot of visitors but Linda should be able to use the rooftop pool and terrace when she goes, don't know whether we'll be able to when we go we'll just have to wait and see.
