I am thinking of going to the costa brava in early October with my partner. He would love to go to the Nou Camp and I would like to see Barcelona but we would like to stay near the beach.
What I am wondering is where would be the best area to stay. We dont want to be anywhere with loads of english pubs and 18-30 type atmosphere but do like to visit a few nice pubs/bars/restaurants. Ive never been before so have no idea what to expect.
I have a friend who stayed in Sitges and really liked it.
Hi, Have stayed in Estartit in October 2004 but the resort was really quiet with about 60% of it closed, maybe try Callela or Lloret cos these will be busier but not like in the summer, Barcelona is Fantastic in October.
we stayed in santa susanna in october 07, and made visits to the nou camp ,half hourly trains to and from barca to santa, no lager louts were noticed in santa s during the 2 weeks we were there, and a very good time was had, if you do stay in santa, try for an afternoom game rather than an evening one as the trains stop running around 11ish and it will be a mad dash either from the nou camp or espanyols ground via the metro/underground to your train station....hope this helps
