Helen whenever i book a holiday i always send a request the following week stating when and with whom i am travelling [t/o] in Any cases they will not receive the booking from the TO till about 10 days before you go in which case i could be too late

Thanks both, haven't had to do it before as we've always been on the same booking. Thought we'd get some Tesco points this year and booked separately.
If you can remember Helen, I e-mailed our hotel in Stalis last year (we booked that separately too) 2 weeks before we went and eventhough the receptionist said she'd received the request, she said she was sorry but they couldn't do it

I have found from my experience of emailing special requests, its pot luck if your lucky or not.
Some are very obliging and others just ignore them, in the past have requested a low floor and we were put on the 15th! but then again have also got what we asked for at other hotels, so there is no harm in asking.
Have a great time, I shall also be in Beni at Easter so lets hope the sun is shining

Helen, I've trawled the web this afternoon trying to find an e-mail address for them and it doesn't look as though they have one. I've found their postal address, telephone number and fax number but no e-mail.
I've e-mailed the Levante Club Hotel to see if they have an e-mail address for them. I told them that I understand that theirs is a completely different property but they may know of an e-mail address for them. Not sure whether they'll oblige or not but it was worth a go.

I've received a reply from the Levante Hotel this morning. Very quick reply- most impressed. The only problem is the e-mail address they've supplied for the apartments is different to the one Linda's found

Hi all, going to palma nova in july, we are having 2 rooms so emailed hotel last week to see if they could allocate rooms next door to one another, they replied the next day saying they don't get all the booking details until approx 15 days before making it difficult for them to honour any special requests. They asked me to email or fax them my booking confirmation so they could help, have done this today. They seemed very happy to help.

That's what we were told Jo. As the hotels don't get guests details until around 14 days before arrival, its pointless e mailing before this time.
The time I did it. I only emailed 48 hours before we were due to arrive. I think the way hotels and apartments work, even if you have booked a year in advance they dont look at specific room allocations until a few days before people arrive.
If you do it too far in advance I would imagine the info gets lost in their computer system, or the emails get deleted for being old.
Ive been in many hotel/apartments where they seem to be deciding what room you get at the time you book in at the front desk.

I think it depends who you book with. I booked a hotel through Thomson (hotel only - no flight) last June for January 2009 and emailed the hotel with a request a couple of weeks later. They had the reservation on their books. I emailed again a couple of weeks before we went just to confirm our requests. We got what we asked for and more!!
