Well i've never been in the Electra Palace so can't comment on the place but can help with the location. It's in Trianda which is very handy for Rhodes Town (a 10 minute bus/taxi ride) - regular buses if you walk up to the main road or a taxi would cost around 10 euros.

Electra Palace is in a modern, reasonably built up tourist area so plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity, the more traditional town area or the beach are a short walk away. You'd be on the west coast of the island which can be quite breezy so has pebble beaches. The breeze can be a godsend in the summer but can make the evenings feel cool in October so make sure you take jackets.

I am torn between Electra Palace and Royal Belvedere in Crete!!! Decisions, decisions!!

One thing worth considering is Rhodes normally has the better weather early/late season - in fact the island has the best sunshine record in all of Greece

I've booked Electra Palace!!!!! Hoping for lots of sun!!
