Hi everyone Im looking for some suggestion for a hotel as my husband and I are going away for 4 nights in July (without the kids). Have stopped in the Monica, Flamingo Oasis and Pelicanos and had a great time in all (wouldnt go back to the Monica) but they were all booked with the kids in mind.
At the moment we are looking at the Melia, have been reading the boards and reviews for a while now and have crossed the Orange, Ambassador & Dalmatas off my list as they dont fit quite what we want.
What we are looking for is
Lavante area
Half board (like the idea of being able to swop evening meal for lunch)
Nice pool area, sun all day (not having to Q at 7 for a sunbed)
Mini bar in room would be nice, and maybe a jacuzzi around the pool.
We are looking for a more relaxing time, not bothered about any sort of entertainment day or night, and within walking distance of the cabaret bars.
If anyone can point me in the right direction please let me know.
Thank you
Stayed at the Levante Club hotel twice now, and it sounds as if it would suit your needs. Thomson are selling it as a Gold hotel from May so mainly adults only.
It is next door to the FO so its a bit of a walk to the centre, takes about 10-15mins,so not too bad.
The food is quite average although always found something enjoyable to eat.
Relaxed atmosphere, nice big rooms overlooking the pool, lovely bathrooms and you can hire the small fridge in the room.
Wellness centre and spa at extra price in the hotel.
Plenty of room around the pool and always got a sun bed without getting up too early.
Bars over the road but I expect you know the area.
Would stay here again, thought it was the most modern and one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at in Benidorm.
Hope this helps.
the presidente, rialto, calypso and don pancho have good reviews.i generally stop in the los dalmatas for its position to the promenade, rooms a little dated but very clean, food good but only 2 lifts which is not a problem with it being quiet the times of the year i go. (in 3 weeks)
I agree with johnny on this one. I've stayed at Dalmatas and no problem with the food which is the first thing I worry about in a hotel. Close to all amenities< My mother and father stayed at the Nereo a few times and they had no problems there
although over towards the old town the hotel princessa and the hotel avenida have jacuzzi's.
I have stayed in the Princessa on two occasions and found it to be really good. The cabaret bars are not too far away and there is always a taxi home!!! I have also stayed in the Venus which is a really good location. Clientele out of season can be on the "Saga side" but the food is wonderful, although the rooms are quite basic - but who goes on hols to stay in their room????? I have not stayed in the Calypso myself but it does come highly recommended and again has a really good location.
Decent size, clean room and bathroom. Really large fluffy towels.. Mini bar, decent aircon. Great pool and good food.

The Levante Club looks exactly what we were looking for with some good recent reviews on another site. Never thought about an adult only hotel but youve now put the seed in my mind, its about the same price as the Melia so Im adding it to my short list.
I am working my way through all the other reviews and description of all the others recommended to see if they fit the bill.
Would you recommend to book now for early July or should we wait nearer the date, with everyone saying Benidorm is quiet so far do you think prices might come down. Never done this DIY before always just booked a package .
Thanks again for all the info
I've had a look on a few sites and it is coming in quite dear.
We booked a package and got a good deal, so if you can't find it at the right price and the Melia is available and cheaper, I would go for that (Holiday Nights prices are coming in quite reasonable).
Re: booking now or later is a lottery so if you see a price you are happy with just book it.

Edit. Thomson have The Levante Club (hotel only) for £333 from 2nd July for 4 nights, thats a good price.
I priced it on Thomsons and thought it was a good price (got a shock on other sites though), the price for the Melia is about the same. The pool area is swaying it for the Melia and the over 16's for the Levante, might just have to toss a coin. Thanks
Hello there.........I would have no hesitation reccomending either the Calypso or the Presidente hotels......both excellant food/location/staff...........no negative points .........go full board..........we went h/board in january........but paid the hotel to upgrade to :sun2 :cheers f/board........after paying more for toasties & coffee in the resort.........back at easter...........can't wait............enjoy
calypso hands down.
I'd recomend levante club!
The Levante Club
The prices for the Melia were going up and I went on the Thomson site last night and they were offering the Levante for 4 nights half board for £252 (and I got £12 cash back from Quidco). £60 a night seemed a good deal for me so I booked.
Thanks cazB for the original suggestion (if its rubbish I can tell the Hubby it was your idea) and we are going to pop in the Melia and check it out for next time.
Thats flights & accomodation booked now just got to sort the transfer.
