We've done "ticket on departure" a few times, especially booking last minute when its too late to have tickets mailed out. Usually you have to allow a bit of extra time(around 20-30 mins) to go to the relevant desk - ( possibly Thomsons or Portland in your case) but I haven't generally found a big queue and it's just a case of you giving them your holiday confirmation/receipt and they hand over the tickets. If there is a queue at the check-in desk for your flight when you arrive at the airport, I suggest one member of the family goes to see about the tickets and the others wait in the check- in queue to save some time. I'm sure you'll have time to have a drink in the VIP lounge and get your holiday of to a good start. Hope this helps -and enjoy your cruise.

Hi Suzanne, don't know your travel date but try asking your travel co to email you the tickets, we had to do that once with Princess, beats worrying till you get to the airport, good luck

I had this on my first ever Thomson cruise, and what a worry this was! I made sure I also called the day before departure to double confirm they would be at the airport!

We were given our tickets with no problems at all at the airport along with luggage labels. Apparently once the tickets have been issued or posted to you and you have not received, they cannot re issue them any other way than at the airport?

I am sure you will be ok, I know it is a worry, but as long as you take your booking confirmation etc all will be ok

Happy cruising!

Suzanne, there should be no problems. Two years ago I booked a Thomson cruise through Thomas Cook here in Dublin. About 10 days before departure (I was flying to Luton to catch the charter flight) I went into the Thomas Cook branch to find out when the tickets wouuld be available - I just love having the tickets in my hand. It makes me realise I will soon be on holidays. I was informed that they would be out the following week. Just under a week to go I again popped into the Thomas Cook office - stlll no tickets. This time they phoned and were told that the tickets had issued but as I had not received them I should collect them at Luton airport on the morning of the flight. Needless to say I was not massivly happy about this. I flew to Luton the evening before departure but the ticket office was closed. After a restless night I was at the airport about 5am (3 hours before the flight was due too depart). The ticket office was open and there were 2 - 3 people ahead of me. When it was my turn the girl searched but there were no tickets. She could not phone anyone at that hour of the morning to check. Luckily I had all the printouts from Thomas Cook and my credit card statements and she eventually wrote out a hand written ticket (I hadn't seen one of those in years). Your booking is there but just bring all your paperwork with you when you go to the airport. Of course not having your ticket causes huge stress but the cruise will be worth it. Regards Marie
