GHD's are and come with an inbuilt adaptor in the plug itself :tup

If these are too expensive take a look at the Boots website as they give more info

They look very similar to the ones I've got at the moment actually but mine are black. They didn't seem to heat up properly on my last holiday and never got hot enough.

I've never seen that site before, looks good!

laura,

Well if they are similar dont bother wth them definately try and find the Babyliss ones as I can tell you they do get just as hot as at home.
Look what I have just found for you.

Thanks for the link!

I'm going to get some 'proper' ones I think rather than travel ones. Mine that I use everyday have started smoking excessively :que so need replacing anyway.

Thanks for your help!

has anyone ever tried the rechargable straightners

I've got the Babyliss ones and they're great. My hairdryer always blows the fuse when I go to mainland Spain but never had a problem with the straighteners.

PS Never tried rechargeable ones.

I've got the ones as per the ifsogo link and they worked fine in the Caribbean.

MY husband bought me a set of cordless/rechargable straighteners a few years ago.
They used to twist and the straightening plates would go down inside the handle so they
could be carried in handbags etc in safety.

They were actually pretty good at starightening my hair too - and really handy on holiday -
I used to charge them up and pop them into my handbag to tidy up my hair of an night if need be.
The charge used to last for about 6 hours.

I say I "had" rechargable ones - actually I still have them.
I've just lost the plug in charger that goes with them! :cry

Hi,

I am off to Tobago at the end of May. Can anyone recommend straighteners for thick and wavy hair?
I got some Babyliss gas powered ones when I went to Barbados a few years ago and they were useless! I'm really keen to get some that will do a good job as I am going to a wedding!!

I've ordered the Remington S2014 straighteners in the end, says worldwide voltage so hoping they will be fine. Got them from Littlewoods, ended up costing me £11 using a promotional code, been delivered Monday. They've got really good reviews too, loads of people saying they are as good as GHDs!

After years of buying less-expensive straighteners (Which ended up costing me a fortune as they never worked on my hair, so i'd buy another 'cheap' pair and then another, and another etc etc) i eventually just invested in a pair of GHDs - that was 6 years ago and they are still amazing! I recently got a new pair of GHDs for christmas, as these ones will also work abroad (The ones i bought 6 years ago didnt have that ability!) and i absolutely love them.

I'd never chance it with any others - i ended up spending more over 1 year on multiple 'cheaper' ones - i shouldve just spent it on 1 pair of GHDs! I'll never go back!
