can i just post to the people who haven't been to turkey before, make sure you get some food before you return to dalaman for your flight home as it is 1 of the most expensive airports in the world here are some examples..

mc donalds meal £11.00
happy meal £6
can coke £4.50
beer £7.00
so you get my drift its criminal prices and a lot of people get to the airport hungry and thirsty,so buy something in the supermarkets before you are about to fly home.....

Yes, all Turkish Airports are very expensive not just Dalaman. However if you are the holder of a Priority Pass Card or an HSBC Premier Card and there is a lounge in the airport then you can use it.All food and drinks are free once you show the card.We live here and have both cards which are issued free to us by HSBC. You can use them at any airport in the world where they have the appropriate lounges. They are very useful but don't get P----d.

Hi All,

in responce to wkeintheblue, yes it is expensive at dalaman airport, even a coffee is £4.00 but please be aware....

from this year NO fluids eg, water CANNOT be taken into the airport, you will have it taken off you as you go thru the first security section as you go thru the doors of the airport !!

They are now in line with all uk airports, not sure about food but check out dalaman airport all news will be on their pages and of people trying to take in loads of cigs !!

Ita also helpful if you want to track your flight that your going on a few weeks before you go to see the arrivals / departures timings !!

also read DALAMAN AIRPORT thread

cheers happy holidays :cheers

I have read on another forum that the drinks are allowed into the airport as long as you dont take them through the last security at the boarding gate.
I suppose they may change the rules depending who is operating the first xray machine :que

They say liquids are OK in your luggage, as this is at the first check point I can't see them confiscating at the entrance as you still need to checkin, I am presuming that the check will be a the gate when you go through security for the second time, however it wouldn't surprise me if they move the second security to behind passport control so your forced to spend money.

Hi bill,

I have never stayed at the hotel your going too, but just to say the turkish people love children,so you your wife and 2 children will have a great time,

Olu is a great place to go to, its all in a bay as to say. you will see it as you come down the hill, so you could walk all around olu if you wanted too. Its all on level ground little bit of a slope but not much,

when are you going ? i am sure someone on here will be able to help you

Please reply. I am in the middle of a dispute on Dalaman airport. My friend says you go through security off the road as you enter the airport. Where your luggage is scanned. I say its when you go to check in. I know you go through secutity about 3 times. Is it right that you have drinks taken at first door ? Can you not have them till you go through to departures. Please settle our diffrences.

you go through 2 sets of scanners and pasport control,

the first is just inside the main doors, i have read on HT somewhere that they will be taking fluids of you at this point. eg water etc, you check in, then go thru passport control, you then go through another scanner when you get to your gate / holding pen :rofl

i think they take them off you at the main door is that they dont have a scanner near passport control, and you have to then buy more too !!

i am not totally sure but will let you know as i am going on the 8th june, unless someone else replies sooner

Hi Bill, as already said, the resort of Olu Deniz is flat as is the lovely walk to the lagoon. You shouldn't have any problems getting around. Everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful, you will be offered help with your daughter if you should need it. The sea can be quite rough and the beach is quite difficult to walk on but they have sort of rattan strips running down the beach towards the sea. The boat trips are very good value for a full day out including a bbq lunch. I found it quite difficult to get off the boat due to the sea being so rough so you would definitely need help with your daughter.
Hisaronu is five minutes up the road on the dolmus or taxi if you prefer, they have a market there on a Monday. sorry can't help with any info on your hotel as I am not familiar with it. The promenade is also easily accessible and is quite wide. You will have a lovely holiday, it's a beautiful place

If you want a boat trip with your daughter you would be as well to get the dolmus to Fethiye and get on board at the harbour which will save a lot of problems.

yes i agree with parky,

it would be better that way as at olu, you have to walk into the water to get on the boat. ( I think )

then after your boat trip you could have a walk around fethiye in the evening, around the shops and on the harbour front having a meal or drink together.

Olu to the left, Blue Lagoon to the right and the finger in the middle is the nature reserve and, I think, Bobs Beach.

This Suara Beach, a hundred yards or so past Bobs.

Fethiye Harbour - just to the left of where I took this is/was an excellent Restaurant.

Hi everyone,

What a great review site, really enjoying reading through all comments.

We are heading to Turkey for the first time as a family. We are flying into Antalya and going to the Belek Region. We are staying in the Letoonia Golf Resort in Bungalow Accommodation. I must admit I have some reservations due to food and heat etc with the children (age 8 and 5), but the hotel looks great for the kids with plenty to do.

Any feedback and tips would be great from fellow turkish travellers, especially anyone who has stayed at this hotel before.

I look forward to hearing from you all,

Take care, Kaz T :cheers
