I bought a new camera recently (the less said about that the better) so I thought I'd try it out, instead of the camcorder.
As soon as I got to Benidorm, I knew it was a big mistake leaving the camcorder behind.

Here are some photo's that I took of the fallas effigies, the photo near the end of the video shows the band and the "Desperta" who patrol the streets throwing firecrackers around at approx 8 am, you can see the smoke from one. They are very loud and sound like bombs exploding.

I did mention to someone that I thought the effies this year were not as good as last year, especially the display near Plaza de Hispanidad.
He told me that they are very expensive to make (which I knew) and Benidorm is feeling the pinch with the cost of involving the fire brigade, the police, the crowd control, the traffic diverted, the fireworks and the cleaning up operation afterwards.
