Crossroads Hotel in Calangute (above the The chippy) have a sign out today offering rooms for 800Rps with A/C 600Rps Non A/C which I would have thought would be the same until November.

If you're staying a while (a month or more) then it's best just to find somewhere cheap for a couple of nights and spend a day or to house hunting.. In September you should be able to get some great deals... We have volunteers / helpers who stay for a month to 4 or 5 months and find really nice apartments for the equivalent of 200 or 300 Rs/- per night (6000 to 9000 per month), I can't tell you the ones I use (otherwise I wouldn't have any to offer for our volunteers! ) but all the ones I offer have two bedroomeds, kitchen, living room, balcony, hot water, fridge, sometimes TV, Aircon, washing machine, water filter.... Ask taxi drivers, waiter etc they all know of somewhere... Tell them your budget (keep it on the low side as they always offer you something above your budget (it's the way it works here), If you look for somewhere for 6000 Rs/- you should get somewhere for 7000 Rs/- or 8000 Rs/-

Is work only allowing two weeks? - Stay for a month it won't cost much more... The accomdation rates come right down and a flight shouldn't be any more, try here for some stunning flight prices!
