These aren't extra legroom seats. There is only one of the rows (38), where the aircraft fuselage 'bends' so the outbourd seats are angled slightly that offer any extra room.

Dazbo5, I can assure you that these are extra legroom seats. I work on these aircraft all the time. I have managed to locate a list of all the extra legroom seats on the Monarch A330 for you.

1 DEF - Premium Cabin
2-7 ABCDEFGJK - Premium Cabin
8 BCHJ
30 BCDEFHJ
Rows 37-43 Seats AB & JK only

I suspect that what somebody on here said about Monarch removing rows of seats to create additional legroom is correct as the map on Seat Guru is incorrect. There are a total of 44 rows on the A330.

partyboy_uk,

That's a new one on me then because it certainly wasn't like that the last time I was onboard their aircraft. Arn't they 'Monarch Plus' seats in that case? not extra legroom?

I know this has been the configuration for the last 2 years at least.

Monarch Plus was phased out at the end of last summer and this is no longer sold. Additional legroom was not part of the extras provided with this service anyhow.

partyboy_uk,

Thanks for the info, that's very useful for members. It's just the A332's that are different than the list I have in that case.

I don't think the flight MON3528 has ever been operated before anyway ?
The woman at Monarch said an A321, when does the flight start anyway ?
Reply
boygeorgefan,

The flight number might not be the same, but Monarch have operated flights from Manchester to Corfu through the summer (May - October) for a while.

Have just read flightcheck from last year.

They operated an A300 and A321 on Monday's on an A321 on Friday's.
I think it is an A321 but will know more officialy in May.

thanks for info about extra legroom on A330s - that definitely fits in with what we've been told, that we couldn't be booked in a row of 3, that we would have to have two seats together and one behind! the fact that the seat layout on seat guru is wrong also explains my confusion - I had looked at that and couldn't work out where they could have allocated extra legroom seats to us away from an emergency exit (as we are flying with our 10 year old)
So thanks for clearing that up and I can relax knowing that we have truly been sold extra legroom seats!

Hey, no problem at all. Just as a sidenote, if you would like to stay together for most of the flight then it wouldn't be a problem for the 3 of you to be sat together at doors 2 or 3. Only thing is that the crew would ask your 9 year old to swap seats with someone just for take-off and landing. Certainly from a cabin crew perspecive, there would be no problem for you to sit together for the rest of the flight. If this is preferable then it may be worth asking the staff at check-in and letting them know you are fine with this arrangement.

If you sit near doors 2 then you will be quite close to the toilets and there are a lot of people who will tend to hang around this area. If you sit near doors 3 then this is less of a problem but you may have one or two people (wrongly) crossing in front of you. There is, however, more legroom in these areas than the other seats on the plane. :tup

thanks for the advice - useful to know these insider tips! Not too worried about being split up between two rows (as long as they are adjacent!) - certainly sounds like a better option than having lots of people hanging around us waiting for the toilet!

I wish I'd seen this forum years ago....
We are flying out on Monarch to Larnaca on ZB714 on May 13th for one week, back on ZB713. Can anyone tell me what type of plane it is please?

geronimo,

welcome onboard :tup
When is it you're flying? LGW-LCA-LGW (ZB714/5) are normally an Airbus A321-200, although some are operated by a Boeing 757-200. Refer to our What Aircraft? thread for more details.

Thanks Darren
We're flying Gatwick to Larnaca on Wed 13 May at 15.30. It'd be good to know the type of plane so we can book some extra legroom seats.
Just reading through the different topics - this site is so helpful!!

geronimo,

The wednesday flight is normally a 757-200. If you go on Monarch website's website and log in to your account, you'll get a seating plan for the aircraft so you can select your seats.

For anyone who is interested, here are some pictures of the Monarch standard economy cabin on the A330:

The purple headrests indicate extra legroom seating.

Hello all
First time user here and I'm hoping that I have listed in the right forum. Apologies mods if I haven't !

We are off to Sharm el Sheikh on 1st october through Thomas cook but I believe that it is a monarch flight. I have been very spoilt in the past by flying First Choice or My Travel premium cabins but have learnt that this flight won't have those options available.
So, does anyone please know what the seat measurement are and of course the pitch on Monarch? Even perhaps the configuration/type of plane?
I'm sorry that I do not have the flight number at the moment.
Thanks ever so much and any information gratefully received
Thanks

Louise
