MAN-RMF-MAN (MON1860/1) are indeed operated by a Boeing 757-200. MON's aircraft have a few less seats to provide more extra legroom rows. Unless you want extra legroom seating, standard seats are pretty much all the same so it doesn't make a lot of difference really. Seating is always personal preference. What is 'best' for one passenger it's necassarily what others prefer. Details of extra legroom seating are on Monarchs website.

thanks for your quick reply
a few months back when i asked what aircraft for our LGW-KGS you advised us it would be a Boeing 757-200. ... imagine my shock and horror to walk along the skyway to find my self inside an A321 had seats 30a out and 30f back with beautiful clear Sky's to watch as we flew down the coast of the former Yugoslavia .
seat pitch 27" no ife installed [shame or the young ones] meals not expected but included, usual standard of air fare , mini omelet bacon beans & hash browns going out and sausage mash peas carrots and onion gravy coming home,
Brian
That's a bit of luck Wizard! Not often you get ro ride on a 'bus. It was MON1738 wasn't it? It was the usual 757-200 at the beginning of the month but they swapped it to an A321 on 13/20th May for some reason. You were on G-OZBN, a 2000 construction and former Bmi British Midland bird (G-MIDK). They're normally used on scheduled services (hence no IFE) rather than charter. Have a great time in the sun, you'll be glad you know you've left torrential rain behind
Hi im flying to sharm el sheikh, egypt on the 7th june. my flight number is MON1904. can u tell me what plane i'll be on?
hannahf18,
Hi! i'm flying on ZB894 (LTN-TFS) on Sunday 26th July, just wondering whether anyone knows what flight the aircraft will operate the night before? Thanks!
LTN-TFS-LTN (ZB894/5) are operated by an Airbus A321-200. It operates LTN-Larnaca-LTN (ZB856/7) previously normally arriving in LTN at 0210.
Darren
thanks for that! i was also wondering whether the a321 will have ife installed? cos i know someone who flew to Tenerife recently with monarch and on one leg their plane didn't have any entertainment?
Most of them do, although the recently acquired aircraft from bmi don't. Given that you're on a scheduled flight under 4 hours rather than a charter flight, you won't get IFE even if the aircraft is fitted with it.
Darren
Edit: Darren Posted The Same Info As Me
do provide IFE on flights were it is installed for both scheduled and charter flights where the flight time is over approx 3/3.5 hours. With regards to in-flight entertainment there is no distinction between charter and scheduled flights. Here is a full list of the short-haul/medium-haul destinations Monarch fly to where they provide IFE on board when it is installed on the aircraft:
Gambia
Greece
Bulgaria
Algeria
Turkey
Canary Islands
Cyprus
Egypt
Monarch provide IFE on all long-haul flights.
Moreover, aircraft G-OZBL, G-OZBM AND G-OZBO which are all ex British Midland aircraft do have fully functioning IFE installed. The only other ex BMI aircraft, G-OZBN, only has silent IFE. I assume you are thinking of the recently acquired aircraft which came from GB Airways, via Easyjet: G-OZBS, BT and BU. At present, BT and BU just have the facility of a moving map, although they do have IFE and seat audio installed. I think this may be adjusted soon so that the IFE systems can be used.
Dazbo, with respect, that information is incorrect. Monarch Gambia
Greece
Bulgaria

First post and a cheeky request....... off to Chania on MON7426 on 2nd June, returning on MON3589 on 9th June from Manchester. Can anyone let me know what aircraft we can expect to travel on?
Thanks in advance.......
Paul
Just in case you were wondering you should have in-flight entertainment on both these flights. However, 2 of Monarch's 5 x A320 aircraft do not have this facility installed. Unfortunately, it appears that it is these 2 aircraft that are operating out of Manchester at present (G-MRJK and G-OZBK). Take the i-player just in case
Thanks for the welcome to the forum and the information, partyboy. Not flown Monarch - or in an Airbus - before, so a couple of new experiences on the way!! Travelling with a 2 year old, so pondering getting a portable DVD player just in case we have JK or BK........
Monarch going on strike????
Monarch going on strike????
until a ballot is taken this is just a possibility, there are a lot of unemployed aircrew around after the demise of several carriers last year and the fleet reductions made by others, so i think the monarch staff will take serious note of this when making a decision
Brian
Ive heard Monarch could be on strike in July and im booked with them through Olympic but i have an option to switch my flight to Thomson from EMA ?
