We wanted to go for 1 week without flights and Med, Greek Isles etc would be nice.

Assuming you live in the UK, you will not get a 7 nighter into the Med. without flights. It takes 2 days to get there, and 2 days back, which is the reason most, if not all Med. cruises out of the UK are for at least 16 nights!

If you are able to fly, and need to stick to one week, then Norwegian Jade out of Barcelona would be a good option as well as RCI. We have been on the Island Escape & Star, Voyager of the Seas and Norwegian Jade amongst many others.

Thanks Hamrag for reply

I am sorry I live in Liverpool England, there are so many cheap airline companys now that flying to Barcelona, Rome or anywhere really in Med is very reasonable, that is why I am pricing Cruise only.

We really liked the VOS RCI and only for the fact she is doing near enough the same itinery we would have gone back on her next year. What is the Jade like in Comparison? Is the entertainment similar? Does it have the same sort of promanade, shops, English type pub with live music, and are the restaurant (fine dining) similar to VOS?

In comparison which would you say you prefered, and anyone else who has been on RCI how do other companys compare? We love all the west end style shows, the formal nights we like as there are not to many (wouldn't like it everynight) and really liked the live entertainment on the promanade from the pub singer after we had been to the shows etc.

Thanks again

The Norwegian Jade, in our opinion, was slightly behind the RCI Voyager experience but is a newer ship. They still have the shows and everything else, similar to RCI. They have what they call "freedom dining" meaning you can eat when you want, and there are a good number of restaurants to choose from, including fine dining (you pay $10 or $20 for this).

The itinery is similar to Voyager, but does Monte Carlo (by tender) and Palma in Majorca rather than Marseilles and Nice. I would expect that from rome there would be good options with RCI that go out to the Greek islands, or you may even consider Venice with Jet2.com
