I just made a posting and meant also to ask what the prices were like in Maderia at the moment. 4 "oldies" going for a week staying at Canico Hotel Oasis there.

f public loos were easy to find in mos areas

Hi, I used to work in Madeira and my daughter is still working there for a big hotel group. As far as the "loos" are concerned, there are few and far between. Do as the Madeirense so, simply pop into the nearest cafe. The loo is always at the back. Or else use those in the nearest hotel. Staff don't seem to mind. There are always some excellent ones in the shopping malls, e.g. Madeira Shopping which is outside Funchal in the Hotel Zone as well as Marina Shopping, just opposite the marina. Also in the shopping center in Funchal almost opposite the indoor market. Lots of cafes are there also.
