linsi,

I'd need to know your specific flight details to give you exacting aircraft information. The aircraft based in Blackpool are Boeing 737-300's. A few technical qualities for you:

Engines: 2x CFM56-3B2 turbofans each producing 22,000lb of thrust
Typical take off speed is 140kn
Typical long range cruising speed is 429kn
Wing span: 28.88m / 94ft 9"

Hi all this might be a stupid question but ill give it a go . I am flying with jet2 next sunday to alicante and i was just wondering if you can use a portable dab radio on a plane and if so wat kind of reception would i get . :que
Reply
jamiex,

You aren't permitted to use a protable radio at any time during flight and it's unlikely you'll be able to pick up any signals anyway. You can take an mp3 music player though and use it at any time other than at take off or landing or whenever instructed not to do so by cabin crew.

we flew with jet2 on 23rd and 25th may. What can I say? Never used this airline before so was a little apprehensive. Shouldn't have worried :) Nice small planes, all six sitting together. Really pleasant stewardesses, very smart. Bonus was we all got a hot meal although our ticket stated " in flight meals not booked" We had roast chicken, roast pots. veg and gravy, followed by chocolate fudge cake, tea or coffee.Good selection of drinks.
Coming home we had another hot meal, sausage, mash, gravy and veg. apple and blackberry pie.We had more or less the same crew on the return leg, Charmaine was the chief stewardess.Very impressed. I would like to send them an email but having a problem finding their contact email address. Can anyone help? :cheers

Does anyone know how bad the ques are at jet2 bag drop off point at manchester airport ?? How much time should i allow for a 2 pm flight??

Thanks in advance :tup

Jamiex,

Not familiar with Manchester, but if you are using bag-drop, you will already have checked in on-line, this alone makes the whole process of presenting yourself at the bag drop take no more than a couple of minutes. Also, you would be surprised just how many people do not use bag drop, and prefer to queue up and check in at the airport!! Hope this helps a little. colettemc

jamiex,

It obviously depends on the time of day, but generally speaking, afternon departures are usualy quietish so queues shouldn't be too bad. It's in the early to mid morning when most flights depart the airport is very busy.

Hello everyone. What a fantastic forum with some very handy info!

I am flying to Paphos from Leeds/Bradford on Wednesday 10th June. I know Jet 2 use the 757-200 aircraft on this route. Just checking that to make sure I am not sat over the wing need to ask for any row 25+??? Are Jet 2 good if you ask them for a certain row at Check In?

Also I have upgraded to Jet 2 Plus. Do you get a card to get you into the Airport Lounge when you check in or just you just show your Jet 2 paperwork?

Also do Jet 2 not allow you to check in until exactly 2 hours before departure, or can you check in earlier?

Final question is does anyone know the Reg of the aircraft that will be used on Wednesday?

Many questions I know!

Thanks

westyorkshireguy,

You Would Be Correct, It Will Be Operated By A Boeing 757-200,

The Registration Is Looking As Though It Will Be G-LSAG At The Moment

westyorkshireguy,

LS405/6 are indeed operated by a Boeing 757-200, but it could be any one of several aircaft. G-LSAG/H are commonly used but they rotate them regularly (they're the same anyway!). If you ask for a specific area of the aircraft, I'm sure they'll try to accommodate you best they can. Row 25+ will give you a view of the ground and the wing won't be in the way. I've never used Jet2 Plus, but I would assume you just need your booking confirmation. Your booking details are held electronically on their check-in system so I'm sure they'll sort you out when you check-in. Check-in opens 2 hours before your flight but I've check-in before that.

EDIT: typo

I'll be flying jet2 from Faro soon and am considering using their 'plus' service, primarily to beat the queues but also to use the lounge service.

Has anyone used the lounge in Faro and does anyone know if it's situated before or after security?

Also does anyone have any idea if this is run by JET2 or if it's the more usual serviceair facility.

Many thanks

Grunn,

Welcome onboard :tup
I've never used the lounge in Faro, but it's situated after security (all airside lounges are). It isn't run by Jet2, they purchase access to local facilities on your behalf.

thanks Darren, I presumed some are before security from comments I've read elsewhere ie to make sure they are airside.

Also I'm a bit worried about the age of the fleet that does the blackpool>faro route, still it seems you enjoyed flying from Blackpool. Your report on the trip to Spain you took was very informative, thank you.

Executive lounge in Faro is, indeed, airside of security and can be found on your left, almost opposite passport control on your right..
