hi
we quite fancy staying trying somewhere different and dalyan looks nice for july this year as its 1 place i havent been too. having said that ive just read some reviews on hotels ive been looking at and a few people have said its extremely bad for insects especially mozzies and lots had been bitten badly despite all the sprays etc, this is something i definitely want to avoid as i get bad blisters due to mozzies bites . can anyone that has stayed there give me their opinions on daylan, not just the mozzie problems but if theres enough to do for a 9 yr old, and is it mainly a pool holiday if the beach is 45 mins away, theres a few things im worried about , as i prefer the beach than a crowded pool fighting over sun beds grrrr
any advice or suggestions recommended, flights to dalaman booked
hiI go to dalyan every year, usually in peak season. mossies love me and when i went to dominican republic i got bitten to death, despite wearing repellent. In dalyan if you wear the repellent every night you should not be troubled by them at all. most restaurants have sin kov free for you to use. The beach is just lovely, better than anywhere else i have ever been in turkey (before i found dalyan, and since for a change), the distance from the town isnt an issue as you can go there on the dolmus or the taxi boat (obviously that means you have to pay to go to the beach) it isnt spoilt by motor sports and there are no hotels on it, just a small cafe at either end of it, due to the fact that the boat and dolmus access different areas on the beach. pm me if you want any further information and i will give you my e mail address. also have a look at kaunos tours website, they have some good trips on there.... also dalyan boat cooperation do trips from the river side. ()) I dont want to advertise the place.... but we just love it !!!) most of the hotels will arrange a transfer for you, you can be in your hotel in 30 mins from airport and a return pick up is £50, and its private, we have never had to share yet. where we are staying this year the return journey is included in the apartment price (we are trying a new apartment.. again just for a change to the other side of town)
just to say, I see you go to akyaka a lot.... i went there twice some years ago... i loved it. dalyan is bigger obviously... but the beach in dalyan and the beach in akyaka... no comparison. i am sure you have done the turtle beach trip, its that beach. i tried to pm you... but cos i am stupid i couldnt figure out how to do it!
where do you book your hotel or apt. ive found a few on travel republic, findmeaccom etc, but to be honest the selection is very poor,i also dont want to pay much as we havent allowed to pay for an apt for july holiday and are staying in 2 expensive ones in oct and not to mention going to istanbul tomorrow
ive sent you a pm, either reply to that or press pm button on this thread, write message and submit thanks
