Hi
19 days to go then off to Lassi in kephalonia.
I have written and re-written my to take list a million times. I promised myself I wouldnt take too many clothes and try and mix and match everything.......but if I see a nice top, I just have to buy it, then re-write my list again :really
We have really looked forward to going to kephalonia and have been on count down since we booked it in Oct .....roll on the 16th June

2 weeks until Poland for me. The cases are already out and I've made a list of toiletries to buy. Think i might start on clothes next as it always takes me ages to decide what to take!

Think I must be getting old, or just had too many holidays. :rofl I do look forward to them still but not for weeks and weeks in advance, and I cant be doing with getting the cases out 4 weeks before I go and all that monumental planning.

This year I only booked Egypt a fortnight or so before I went and I enjoyed it more than some holidays I have booked over 15 months in advance. Weird really. I think because I hadn't built it up in my mind too much. Sometimes I think you can end up disappointed if you have over egged it in your mind.

This year we are doing something completely different by going to a private villa with a pool up in the hills in the costa del sol as hubbie is totally hacked off with sunbed runs, crowded pool surrounds and fighting off ill mannered people at buffets, so he refused point blank to go to a hotel. :( whereas I like to be waited on hand and foot.

I'm sure when it comes to the week before, I will be well up for it.

Sorry you had to cancel your mini-break Lyn. :( At least you have Turkey to look forward to and maybe Cuba.

Doe :cheers :sun2

Snap Chris . I know I really shouldnt be saying this and I know we have been very lucky but it's all getting taken for granted now . Every 6-8 weeks we are doing something . Our weekend breaks are getting more frequent and I feel that we have only just come back from our week in Egypt over Easter and the main summer one is almost here . We dont actually have enough time between breaks now to feel that we need a holiday . :think I've been following your Villa topic and getting excited for you myself :)

Hubby and I had words at the weekend because he said I just dont listen and do exactly what "I "want . He's bored with the same countries and laying on an A/I sunbed. The week before he was happy for me to book cuba and I know he wont want to be spending his holiday driving a car so he's confusing me . Miserable so and so
:que

Thanks for cheering me up everyone . I will be excited in a few weeks . Promise

:yikes Now you see if that was me I'd be totally panicked by now. I'm not going for another 10 weeks but I already know exactly what clothes I'm taking, I've bought them already :) :cheers

I never pack till the day before though, I can't get myself organised too early.

Glynis - that BYKI programme is brilliant. We had great fun in Mexico trying out our Spanish. Of course by the time we'd had a couple of bevvies we were much more confident, and used to order all our drinks & food etc in Spanish
Oh, and men's linen trousers,

Had some really smart ones for hubby in M & S yesterday for £19.50, they had them in brown, taupe, grey & navy. Our daughter said her dad was too old for those casual ones with the drawstring waist, & these were more of a tailored shape - very smart indeed.

Thanks for your reply Kazzia.

Flying with Ryanair and heard horrid tales of how much they charge for printing out new boarding cards. However, managed to contact them today and theyve changed it. Cant believe what a stupid mistake after booking so many holidays.

Like everybody else I just love my hols, book to go again as soon as I come back - gives me something to look forwad to.

I'm starting to get a little excited now as I go 2 weeks on Sunday, I've picked up some new tops and ordered some cracking trainers online but I'm not even thinking about getting cases down or deciding what to take yet, I'll sort out anything i need next weekend and then pack the day before i go!

I can't believe everyone seems to do so much so far in advance!! As long as I know my passports valid, the cats are booked into the cattery, car parking is booked and the tickets have arrived then all we really worry about is running down the food in the house, the packing is always day before :)
