i know where you mean but cant describe it to you . If i remember correctly there opposite the Blue Sky hotel there seems to be a jetty of somesort that people were using , but further around the cost , nearer the sea life museum along that stretch of beach there is definately a platform , the Casino hotel ? is right by there i think , a real chill out section of beach , with big cushions , and i'm sure there were hubba bubba pipes , good music . Have a stroll around and you will find it . You will have a great time

Llindy, thats exactly where I remembered it too, I noticed it when parking a car in the car park by the big domed building near the aquarium, it looks kind of odd and 1960's if you know what I mean

oh that sounds brilliant!! we're staying in trianda/trianta/lalyssos (not sure which), so will be getting a taxi or bus to rhodes town. Where would be the best place to be asked to be dropped off then? Do we just say the casino hotel?

tipsy you need to ask for 'Elli Beach' if you're in a taxi. The buses don't drive by so you could get off by the seafront just as you're heading into Rhodes Town and follow the promenade around or get off at the bus terminus and walk along the harbour (in the direction of the church) and just follow the road around.

just had a look at google earth now. Some great pics, and thanks for the directions. On some of the pics the diving platform looks lovely and new, and then on some it looks like its falling to bits! Not sure which pic is more recent. Does anyone know???

It looked quite old when I saw it last, thats why I thought it was kinda 1960's, it looks a bit municipal if you know what I mean. That said, I didn't go to RT last year so it could have been refurb'd.
