Just back from a week in Protaras self catering. We are a family of 4 with two boys who eat for England.
I do breakfast in the apartment and sandwiches for lunch but we eat out every night. Meals for four with a bottle of wine and 4 large cokes were around 70 euros on average, just main courses or maybe a garlic bread starter.
Drinks in the Love Boat were 2.50 for a pint of beer and 2.50 per large coke. The Sphynx was dearer.
The Mexican in Eden square was closed but maybe opening later in the season, we ate at Chi Chi's mexican which was okay. Gave Anatolia a miss because it was packed out.

Thanks for posting this - very useful!
We're off on Wednesday (17th June) from Glasgow for 2 weeks.
Staying Half Board at Tsokkos Paradise Village in Ayia Napa and planning to take £1000 between 2 of us (22 and 24 year olds)
We've got a hired car and will probably venture through to Paralimni to stock up on bread, water lagers and snacks etc. Sounds like it would be worthwhile!
Looking forward to 2 weeks in the sun lying on the beach. Couldnt do without a holiday, trying to put the exchange rate issue out of my mind and concentrate on having a good holiday!

Got back from Protaras yesterday, and I have to say I didn't really notice any price increase, okay the £ isn't strong against the € but on average it was fine, we spent about £1400 for the two of us, 2 weeks, we were b&b at the Capo Bay so had a couple of beers at lunch then maybe a sandwich, couple of drinks in the Fools and Horses then a meal at night with wine, we ate and drank what we wanted.
What I would say is the prices at the Capo Bay restaurant and bar are expensive, €4.40 for a pint of keo, when in Fools it was €2.80 and €2.00 in Cheers and the hotel wasn't a third full!!!!!!!......
