Due to the current economic climate this will be the first time I have missed San Juan Fiesta/Hogueras celebration in 6 years.
For those who haven't been, Alicante is a fantastic place to be around 22nd to 25th June.

It's a fantastic few days, culminating at midnight on 24 June for the 'crema' or burning of the statues. Don't expect to be in before breakfast the next day
