is that for summer 2010 Llindy?
Went into First Choice shop this afternoon to book our holiday for May 2010 and they wanted £ 100 deposit now with balance of depost payable in October.
yes Leanne , i booked Crete Aug 2010 they wanted full deposit of £260 or £75pp and the balance of deposit to be paid in October , i chose to pay the £260 only because its less to pay off the remaining balance now .
wow, i didn't think they'd want the balance as soon as that, i'm flying on 6th june and my balance is due 12 weeks before departure with TC
Well I'm hoping Dawson and Sanderson are still doing no deposit till september again other wise I can't book yet
They want the balalance of the deposit by October with the balance of the remainder of the holiday cost 12 weeks before departure.
It is essentially a low deposit scheme.
But please remember, that if you cancel the holiday before October you are still liable for the full cost of the deposit!

leanne ..if you only pay low deposit now , you have to pay the balance of deposit in october ........... not the balance of holiday total
Well i did look again and sooo glad i did, cos gone up again (nearly £200) and cant find anywhere else that comes up anywhere near the price. Think direct holidays and thomas cook are outrageously priced this year. RE deposits thomson are asking for 75 pounds and another £55 in 8 weeks. Am extremely happy and relieved now. Only 11 months to go before we go
i went into first choice shop, £75 per person deposit, or £150 per family..........couldnt book mine with them tho, as there system was down.....
went to book royal dragon and it's gone up to nearly 3grand, budget just won't stretch , so it's The Titanic for us. Hope it doesn't sink
Well, booked up for Titanic, two weeks end of may/beginning of June with Hayes Travel, going with first choice, £1899, this includes free child place, pre booked seats, meals on plane, 20kg luggage and a discount for booking in school holidays, too good a price to miss as other quotes varied from £2009 to £2410. Amazing
melid i agree with you been pricing up a few holidays for next year and thomas cook and direct holidays for my family are coming out a lot higher than thomson and fc , still not sure what to do, going to have a big think
Be careful when pricing up hols on DH website, especially if you are a family of 2 ad and 2 ch and want a 1 bed apartment. The website often allocates 2 apartments instead of 1 therefore making it very expensive. If you phone them they'll quote you for a 1 bed.
oops sorry, i thought you meant they wanted the balance of the holiday by october!!
but i might give them a ring anyway
Out of interest I rang my local TC for 2 DH prices on Friday morning . The paraiso in portugal and my favourite cuba hotel that has gone up in price now .
I just want flights released - looks like DIY is the only way to go for us. Annoys the life out of me that TA's are so bloody greedy hammering larger families with under occupancy supplements!
The direct holidays priced through thomas cook are coming out a £100+ more expensive compared to booking direct with direct holidays.
I think it depends what you are booking - Royal Wings via TC is cheaper than Direct Holidays - for me in a family room anyway. I was just curious. Some prices with TC have definitely come down since they were launched. Royal Dragon is still very expensive with them!
