Hello everyone and thanks for the previous help.
Ok.. We now have flights booked and the villa will be ready and waiting. 2 out of our group have still to sort pasports out, so hoping they get them back before September 18th. I know we can send the API information through up to 4 days prior to travelling, but without going in to 'manage my booking' can I send details through now of 4 in our group and and the other 2 later ?
Also, what information is needed ? I am guessing it will be the usual p/port No. expiory etc..
Cheers, Spike.

Hi Spike

You can do some of the passengers on the booking then go back and do the rest. I'm sure I've left it later that 4 days before we travelled..... :(
Anyway, they will start e-mailing you if you haven't done it by the week before........

Think you need:-
Name
D.O.B
Passport Number
Passport issued by (or where)

Haven't got a booking with them at present so can't check.

spike,

Information Needed Is:
Names As They Appear On Passport
Pasport Number
Expiry Date
Who The Passport Issued BY
Date Of Birth,
You Get The Idea.

You Are Probably Better Doing Them All At Once, Allthough You Can Do Some Now Then The Rest Later

Spike,

If having input the API detail and saved it and then subsequently find that you have mis-typed something you can not go back and make an amendement online.

If this were to happen the options, as I see it, are to phone up Cust Svs to make the correction or go to the Ryanair desk at the airport on the day of the flight.

To stop any of these problems I get my missus to stand behind me and check everything I input just to make sure. Sadly I don't think she will offer this service for you (!)

The question is....

Who is likely to notice any mistakes ?

Security check seems to be cursory glance, same at boarding gate.Spanish passport control don't seem that bothered either.

John.

Disclaimer : At no point do I suggest or advise that you attempt to fly with incorrect API details then come back on here and shout at me :(

If anyone is taking any interest in API they will probably be doing it electronically by getting a computer to check your details against those on a black list. Could get dodgy if you have the same name and DOB as someone on the list.

Cat Stevens fell foul of the American system a while back, now he's changed his name his new Islamic one was already blacklisted (for someone else) so they sent him home.

I always keen to see the flight departure times of Ryanair flights from EMA to VLC.

Mondays flight was delayed by around 45 mins (today its 75 mins). Before going to Valencia it does an early morning run to Dublin and back. On all occasions I have looked at this flight lands early but not this week - is this just a hiccup or a trend - we go next Wednesday !

New Norway route from Ryanair

A twice-daily service from Stansted to Oslo Rygge airport is to be started by Ryanair on October 1.

Rygge, 50kms south of Oslo, is the 147th airport in the airline's network.

Ryanair expects to carry 200,000 passengers on the route in the first year.

The airline's Laura McCormack said: "The demand for low cost fares to Scandinavian destinations has grown significantly with the high fares and capacity reductions of BA and SAS.

"Ryanair will continue to expand and exceed failing flag carriers by offering our UK customers the guaranteed lowest fares and even more exciting destinations."

The carrier has released one million fares for £1 for travel across its European network in September and October which must be booked by midnight tomorrow (Friday).

You dont get this very often so get in quick if your flying with them tommorow.
Ryanair is currently charging the same prices whether in Euro or British Pounds for its in-flight beverages. Nothing wrong with that - the two currencies have hovered close to another for a while now.

However, cabin crew will also give the change back in any currency - if you ask.

So, for example, buy a £3/€3 coffee and then pay for it with a €50 note. Then request that the change of €47 in British Sterling.

£47 currently converts to around €54 - so that's a free coffee AND 4 Euro in your pocket.

Does anyone think I could take 2 booster cushions on as hand luggage (a child carrying one each). The dimensions are 2 cms more width ways and 1cm more depth than Ryanair website but they only weigh 1kg. Flying Belfast to East Midlands.

Could I get away with it? Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine has just booked her first holiday flights for next week with Ryanair.

However despite her and my best efforts on the Q&A section of the website we can't find an answer to the following query:

We understand that you must check in online (done) and 4 passenger boarding cards printed, however what happens regards the return journey :think Do they just check in as normal at the airport with booking ref and passports ? There was no option to print 8 boarding cards which would have included the return documents.

Any help gratefully received as they're panicking as it's their first family holiday abroad ;)

Miss_Chief1,

You need to check-in for your return journey as well. When you book return flights with Ryanair, they are actually two seperate bookings, ie two single flights rather than return so you need to check-in for both. You can check-in up to 15 days before the departure date (you need to be within 15 days of your return date to check-in for your inbound flight).

Oh right :tup

So we go back into the Manage bookings tab and check in for the return flights too and print the 4 boarding cards off ?

Thanks

How do the bag drop desks "work" then?

are they manned? are your bags weighed - and if they are overweight, do you get a chance to take stuff out?

(if they aren't weighed - are there scales you can use at stansted?)
Reply
I've not used the RyanAir bag drop, but I've read some experiences on MoneySavingExpert.

Yes, they are manned. Someone will need to put your destination tag onto the cases - and of course they will weigh your case.

From what I've read it's very similar to checking-in as normal. The report I read was by a woman who actually missed her flight because the bag drop queues were so long - she apparently turned up to drop off her bag one hour before her flight.
So don't expect to turn up, toss your bag over and go straight through to Security - you need to allow plenty of time.

jessop,

That's plenty of time. The recommended time is 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
