We fly with jet2 to faro on the 22nd of this month, now i have been keeping an eye on this flight for last 4-6 weeks as you do and the last two weeks the outgoing flight number ls875 has never left manchester on a wednesday morning in the past 2 weeks yet the other daily flights (mon-fri)are shown on manchester departures as leaving i.e ls875 departed 0814 but not for some reason the last two wednesdays also and this is the baffling bit the return flight ls876 always returns from faro at the correct time.
could it be that they are using a charter or something like this although there is no alternate flight due to leave at 8 on wednesdays
Thanks very much for the help and i hope it makes sense to you.
Where Have You Been Checking The Information? Maybe They Are Having Problems With It, From My Records The Flight Has Been Operating Correctly. (Give Or Take Some Minor Delays)

I was just using the airport arrivals and departures board, like i said it appears every other day departing except wednesdays but always returns at the correct time just seems strange thats all.
thanks for checking though
I wonder if anyone can help with some info please. We have booked to travel with Jet2 in October but it looks as though we will have to cancel. I know that the website says there are no refunds but i have also read elsewhere that you may be entitled to a refund of taxes and charges on a flight ( but normally only if you specifically ask for it ).
Has anyone cancelled a Jet2 booking before and if so have you received any type of refund at all ?
Thanks for your help.
You will find details on this page of Jet2's website:
http://www.jet2.com/FAQSection.aspx?ss=8&Lang=EN#2
I assume the circumstances resulting in the cancellation are not covered by your travel insurance policy ?
David
Unfortunately the travel insurance wouldn't cover us. As there are 4 of us travelling we should still get something back
even after the admin fee. Anything's better than nothing.
Hi not sure if this will help but although you cant cancel (believe me i tried) they will let you change dates but not destination and if the cost is dearer pay the difference maybe it could be useful just tryin to help
They now charge a booking fee, that was'nt charged when we booked the flights.
Hi oldies i wasn't charged any admin fees and neither was this mentioned but i did have to pay the 27.50 per person still better then losing them alltogether though.
Have Jet2 decided to cancel their Manchester-Faro service for the winter, does anyone know? I've been logging on to their site for weeks now waitng for fares to be published for the Christmas period but still no fares are showing. However, I've just noticed that Summer 2010 fares are online, albeit greatly increased over 2009 prices. I'm now wondering if I've missed an announcement at some stage and they've pulled the service for Winter 2009.
Th admin charge i was refering to is if you dont use the flight and want to claim the taxes back,we worked out to change our flights as the flights are dearer than what we paid add that to £55 return and the added booking fee for three people it worked out at another £300 +

Note that some airlines will refund all taxes and charges and some the Government tax but not the airport charge. Some don't charge a fee, some charge per booking and some per person. There are words to describe how some airlines behave but this sites automated Libel censor will probably blank them out so I won't bother!!
It's also worth reading http://www.auc.org.uk/docs/306/TFC%20Press%20release.pdf which explains how the airport and Government charges mysteriously vary between airlines on the same route!
There is another sharp practise around unused tickets which has started to appear. If you miss your flight for a reason which your insurance covers you might think simple, claim off insurance. They will probably ask for proof that you did arrive at the airport late and try to check in. Not easy to start with but guess what - if the airline is prepared to give you a letter there will probably be an admin charge! Of course this admin charge will almost certainly not be covered by the insurance.
The issue of admin charges for refunds and what exactly they will refund was looked into by the Air Transport Users Council acouple of years ago and at that time they published a comparison list (which may not be 100% accurate today). It's worth reading at Note that some airlines will refund all taxes and charges and some the Government tax but not the airport charge. I did ring Customer Services but difficult to understand as call centre is in India...he just suggested I signed up for emails (I do but haven't had a single solitary email about the Leeds Bradford flights already released which would have been handy if I'd missed them going on sale).
It Is Allowing Me To Book One Way Flights, But Does Not Seem To Be Leting Me Book Return Flights. I Do Not Know The Reason Why.
You Will Just Have To Hang On A Bit And Keep Trying

I can't even get anything one way - have tried most dates in August and nothing! Actually have just noticed it's now saying available from Sat 18th July.....Grrrrrrrrrrrr! What's the betting it'll be the same story tomorrow!
Question
- I've booked a flight for 1 adult 3 children online, then after printing the booking I realised half of us were online check in. Jet2 defaulted this because were only taking 2 hold bags. I waited to check in online and found out, that doing this you get a seat number. So it's likely we won't be seated together. (we didn't book our own seats on original booking).
Is it possible for all of us to check in online- and be sat together?
If you go in to Manage My Bookings, I'm sure you'll be able to change things so you can all check-in online together.
Darren
Sagres,Jet 2 didn't fly to Faro last winter nor are they this winter 2009/2010. Flights stop at the end of October & dont commence again until last week in March. Its seems other airlines are following suit, Thompson have cancelled winter flights to Faro from Manchester & Monarch I think only fly 4 days of the week.
How absolutely spiffing !!! Thanks Jayjan.
