Have to post that unfortunately last night I and two friends had a very poor meal in Montmatre, the French restaurant in PDC

This has long been a favourite restaurant of ours, we save it for special celebrations, and the last time we were there in January we had a lovely meal. We choose it precisely because it is French, with French wine, home made breads etc etc, and we can only presume they are trying to cut corners due to the crisis. Firstly we were served a normal spanish bread roll, sliced up, one between the three of us. We usually drink the house wine which is acceptable, but they only had one bottle of that left, and we were then offered Los Lirios, a spanish "plonk" which can be bought in any supermarket for under 2€ - they were wanting 12.50€ for this!!! The next wine on the list is 20€!!!
We all ordered the fresh crab salad. When it arrived at the table it smelt very strong indeed, which was disturbing. We ate it, and one of us actually had to remove a mouthful at one stage because of the flavour. We had all ordered the duck (another favourite!) and when it was served was very obviously the processed frozen portions that can be bought in the local english cash and carrys here. It was fine but hardly special. One pudding was ordered, profiteroles. This dish arrived on a banana split plate and consisted of two scoops of icecream, 3 profiteroles cut in half, some squirty chocolate sauce and squirty cream
All very disappointing, and the total bill came to 120€
