Matalan , Asda and Primark...and ebay

Snap, Hilda. Those are my usual shops for holiday clothes. Can get loads for very little ;)
Found another great website HERE, where I bought the Melinda dress you can see on the page - look at the price :D and I had a code for free P&P. Got hubby a nice polo shirt from there too.

I don't spend that much either on holiday clothes.

Mine come from M&S sales, Ebay (mainly) and Cotton Traders. I like the t-shirts from Cotton Traders because they are quite long and I am quite fat. The thing I am having problems with at the moment is finding a really good pair of shorts. The ones I have tried on so far are either too long or too short.

I understand there is a Primark in Margate which is the closest branch to where I live in Kent, but as I don't really know the area, I haven't seen it yet. Can you get nice, cheap holiday clothes for big girls in Primark? I you can, do you have to buy a size larger than you would normally buy?

Yes you do need to buy a size bigger as it all shrinks in the wash.Cheap and cheerful . Hello Hilda....nice to see you hun :tup

Sydney depending on what size you are Primark dont cater much for the fuller figure , i quite like Bon Marche , have bought a few things from there and not costing an arm or a leg either

Primark go up to size 18. As for buying a size larger, I'm not sure, they seem to vary a lot within the store. Just spend the extra 10 minutes trying them on before you buy them, saves hassle in the long run

Glad you like it Roswel. Can't go wrong for those prices can you? I'm not sure if I've still got the code for free P&P or even if it's still valid. I used it about 2 weeks ago. I shall go and look and let you know.

Just found it but not sure if it's just a personal code for myself - No harm in trying though. The code is FXS9D3. Happy shopping!

Thanks from me too shirley h, I've added it to my favourites. They certainly do have some lovely things and fantastic prices.

I do buy myself a couple of new things. This year was a new pair of cropped trousers, a dress, a few going out tops/tshirts and new bikini. Other than that, all the stuff from previous years gets an airing and I wear that again. I think because its things that I wouldnt get a chance to wear at home, it all looks good as new anyway. I do buy my daughter new outfits each year, mainly because she grows so much at the moment that all of her summer stuff from the previous year is far too small and needs replacing. Hubby will get a couple of new tshirts and maybe a pair of shorts, but he is happy wearing what he calls his holiday stuff. I do buy all new underwear for all us as its an excuse to replace the old.

There is no way I could justify spending over £1,000 for clothes.

And yes, I love primark, peacocks, asda and sainsburys. You just cant go wrong with those shops.

Sarah :)

I bought a lot more than I intended to this year but looking at my stuff it seems I can justify it cos the last two years I've bought virtually nothing.

I would say I probably spent £200 in all but a lot of that can be worn at home and not just for holiday (well, if the weather would behave). Even then I was still wearing scratty cheap daytime beachwear that's more than 5 years old!

I'm the same SandC. I went holiday shopping the day before I went away this year :duh only went to Per Una bought 2 skirts and 3 tops and it came to about 180 pounds, but the skirts were expensive and I will be able to get lots of wear out of them after. I dont tend to buy 'holiday clothes' as such. I have shorts and sleeveless T shirts that I drag out year after year, but the evening clothes I tend to buy with a view to using later as well.

I did buy my teen daughter a few bits as she is still growing and likes to ahave the latest stuff and lots of it, but its cheaper than mine, new look, next, river island etc

As for my son, all the threats and bribes in the world would not get him out holiday clothes shopping. He took last years stuff and some clothes I got him in March to go the Egypt.

I asked him what shoes he had packed in his hand luggage on the way to the airport and he said these and pointed at a pair of dirty trainers on his feet :yikes I went mad even though it was 6am in the morning. :rofl Thought to get him some at the airport but no time so he wore those or bare feet. :duh

Got all my kids stuff for holiday from NEXT's sale for about £120 (I have 3 kids), I usually use same 'holiday' crops/shorts year in year out and buy new tops from Asda/Tesco etc (so if I trash them I can leave them behind), hubby again, it's generally new tops from Matalan & Primark as his shorts only ever come out for holidays. We have holiday stuff that only comes out for....holidays (usually too cold here for them).

I'd say we spend £250 absolute tops and that probably includes new sandals/flippy flops for us all.
