Have no idea if it's possible to hire them or not but if you mean moped scooters rather than the mobility type I wouldn't advise it in Tunisia as some of the traffic can seem a bit like the wacky races! I don't think I would like to drive a car there let alone a scooter where you have so little protection from other traffic.

I agree with you there Leanna. I've actually been on the back of a moped out there when I'd bought some meat in the Medina and was in a hurry to get it into the fridge in the apartment. At least on the back you can just hold on tight, close your eyes and pray. At least there was no crash helmet to ruin my hairstyle.

Thanks for replies. The roads must be pretty similar to Goa then, no road markings, wrong way round roundabout, its scary but its also a great way of getting about.
