We are considering a cruise next year.
We are two adults, 40 yrs old and 1 child who will be 4 years old next year.
I am not looking for ultimate luxury as husband doesn't particularly like dressing up all the time for dinner. He is ok with collared shirt and slacks and the odd tux.
We would want a good children's programme.
We would also like to cruise somewhere warmer so that days at sea could be lounging in the sun.
Oh, and we can ONLY do school holidays as I am a teacher. (Pain as holidays always go up soooooo much during school holidays.)
Thanks in advance.

There are different types of cabins which vary according to your price range and needs. I went on a med cruise and loved every bit of it, I felt entertained when I wanted it, and the staff were helpful and great. They have a cash free system on board (as most cruises do), so you need to ensure you have sufficient to cover at the end as you can get carried away.
Hope this helps.
Check out easter and 1/2 term dates these are often better prices than the summer hols.
We've never been on a cruise before and were apprehensive as it is the unknown, but if you don't try it you'll never know.
We booked on Ventura for a week in September. P&O have formal nights, but only a couple during a week and from reading accounts they aren't as strict as they used to be. They have dropped semi formal nights so now most are smart casual (trousers and open shirt, polo shirt etc), to be honest I think people make far too much of the dress codes.
My main advice is not to believe any prices and press for better price and offers.
We were given a price and offered 'free' parking in Southampton. We deliberated and put the call centre on hold. When we went back she said if you don't have the parking the price will be £300 LESS and we'll give you £100 on board credit. So by holding we had saved £330 as parking is £70 and have a balcony cabin for little more than an inside cabin. Booking late means there is less availability and choice - there were only four 3 berth cabins left when we booked.
Thanks everyone. I will take all into consideration.
