Olympic Airways will not exist as such after end October 2009. They are bankrupt and bankrupting Greece too. The Greek Government have been bailing them out for billions of euros. They have been sold off, and I believe the company taking over is going to keep the name Olympic Airways (or Airlines, not sure). There may well be some changes to flights etc but they have always been pretty good at letting people know about flight changes, strikes etc. It really is a strike ridden company, the past two years have been a nightmare for people who live in Greece and rely on OA. Many people have gone over to Aegean Airlines, who are excellent and next year will fly in and out of London Stansted and London Heathrow. I've used them a few times (unfortunately not from Karpathos) and they really are good. I think most people hope that now that "Olympic" have got to start making money, things will be going along without too many of the problems OA have been beset by. I am sure you will be updated nearer the time but don't worry, May will be fine. End July/ August is the only real busy busy time in Greece, and of course Greek Easter (usually different time to the UK but I think in 2010 they are at the same time in the calendar)
